Default 09 WRX Interior lighting

Does anyone know how to change the blue lighting near the cigarette lighter? Everything else in my car is red, but that one part it looks pretty retarded imo. I am trying to get red underglow for the foot well on my driver and passenger side.

part was under $10- here's the # (the light pictured is the one that came out- the one that went in looks identical except the plastic housing is brown- and the light is red )

I had a clearer pic w/ a flash, but it washed the red light out completely- fuzzy but you get the idea

Nice. It's an easy install, too. The light simply pops right out with a small screwdriver. I had to remove it when I installed the red footwell lights.

The site I checked is charging ~$10 for shipping, anyone know of a better site for OEM parts?

Putting the transparent tape would probably make it look even worse, probably change the color to purple or maybe some ***** color. Bah, I should order the part, but not getting my next pay check until monday lol.

The light in your glove box is red (mine is), so i just swapped that one out with blue one in the console cubby, connectors are identical. Plug and play very easy to do.

i ordered my red one through a local dealer, $16.92 for the STi red bulb. anyone who has a 2010 will be disappointed because we have orange in the glove box and not red.

I changed mine for free...well, I used an LED I had left over from a security system install. I popped out the blue LED from the connector, soldered the red one, and sealed everything with clear epoxy.

I wanted subtle red lighting in the car so I glued on the rubber diffuser from the blue LED and put on layers of 20% and 50% window tint on the floor illumination kit.

nice, yea i have the orange one from the glovebox swapped in with the blue for now, with the little nipple on the orange to dull it down a tad. orange matches the interior at least a tad better than blue, i dunno what subaru was thinking with that one!

Odd, my Sept. '08 build 2009 has an orange light in the glove box..... Is the light in there the same PN as the cubby? If so I'll need 2 of those STi red lights for my car....

im not sure if they are the same part number, but i know they are completely interchangeable. i have my orange under the dash, and blue in the glove box. both were just plug and play.
