Car came with a helix sway bar in the rear when I bought it. I have since added a Cobb front bar, and I'm wondering what I should set my rear bar to?
It's listed as: Helix 22mm Rear Sway Bar - 3pt adjustable, 135%, 145%, and 185% stiffer than stock. Does this mean it's roughly equal to a 22mm, 23mm, and 24mm bar? The car also has 04 STI springs and struts, and wrx sedan front control arms. Trying to find the most neutral and forgiving setup on the car. Any thoughts?

Set it at lowest setting and drive, change setting, and drive somemore.. Make your own conclusions as to what is "neutral."

The only problem is I don't really have anywhere that I can push the car enough to determine what's neutral. I guess I'll leave it where it's at until I can get some place to do more testing.

For the most part driving habit will have more impact than your settings. Take a turn too hard and get off the throttle, or tap the brakes, and you could get into an oversteer situation, even on the softest setting depending on available traction.
On the softest setting when in the snow, I can oversteer no problem. That said, leave it at the softest setting. It's an upgrade over stock, and you shouldnt be pushing the car on the street PERIOD. |
