Gee after four up pipe installs and one link tuning session...I am able to respond and NOT EDIT my previous post.
I was refering to the fact that the links were given to providers of EJ20's that is. More information could easily be attained by calling those people. Perhaps that is just too much work.

again xcuse the sarcasm... it's late, i'm tired and i am outta BASS ALE

Actualy there is atleast 3 distinct 4/6cyl bellhousing patterns that subaru has used. The old EA-71 uses one pattern, the EA-81/82 uses a different one, and the EJ the 3rd. I haven't checked to see if the early 1.1L and 1.3L are the same as the 1.6L but they apear to be.

Note that there IS an engine side belhousing so that you can mate a EA-71 to a EA-82 tranny. EA-71/81/82 ER-27 all use a belhousing 1/2 that bolts onto the back of the motor before the flywheel/flexplate is installed.

The EJ/EG motors use a integrated engine side belhousing 1/2 and It is NOT compatible with the older trannies. And the older motors are not compatible with the new trannies.

Here's a place to buy an ej20 front clip

I live in moscow Idaho and I have a friend (who owns a bussines called xessiv motorsports) who can get ej20 front clips for much less than any I've seen. He can also get pretty much any other parts too. I just ordered one for a slammin deal. He orders them from a place that will replace anything that is broken when you get it, as the engines have about 30,000 miles on them (I know this because my friend troy's had a broken oil pan and they shipped him one right away.) It comes with the ecu, tranny etc. Pretty much the whole front half of the car. His website is http://xessiv.com/customerrides/customerrides.htm. It is not a really fancy website because it is a local business but he is a really nice guy who will help out as much as possible. After I am done with my engine swap my car should be up on his website as well. Give him an e-mail and he should be able to get you a qoute for any engine or part you want. I know he does price matching.

I know that Forced Air Tech is importing STi V8 engines, both 2.0L (STi and WRX) and a few USDM 2.5 STi motors. All are longblocks.

I got my Version 8 STi RA motor through them, so they are able to get the stuff... even Forester 2.5L USDM blocks... Which I have sold under my vendor account...

I can get the stuff as well... but didn't want to post as a vendor since it's not stuff I have in stock (but there are a bunch of motors coming over within the next month).
