Default STI, latest Canadian info

Canadian STI what I know so far. From my very friendly dealer as of today.BTW they have been very accurate to date with info.

Same basic specs as US but with some canadian differences.

NO HID's because listen to this, environmental issues????

Different audio than US. Must be it comes with radio/CD???? that is how it was worded in SOC email.

Choice of gold or silver wheels

Still around June delivery and maybe place orders at the beginning of feb but that's a guess by my dealer.

NO price as yet

Maybe they are thinking about all the poor deer and other assorted animals that will be blinded, get smoked, stuck in the monstrous hood scoop, cause the car to overheat, dump coolant all over the road and into the ditch, then the families of those poor animals that were hit will come along and drink it, dying a horrible Prestone death.

You guys gotta look at the big picture!

oh brother you guys...

whoopty doo... no HIDs.

I could care less, as long as it's mechanically untouched. They can give me candle sticks for all I care.

It could be a ~$1500 option, and that's perfectly fine with me if it drops the MSRP by as much. Same opinion on the BBS wheels too. Pay for your own bling material.

A friend of mine is a cop and said one of the guys he works with is having a field day handing out tickets for some of the aftermarket lights that people are putting on their cars. I can't see how it could be an environmental hazard....maybe it has something to do with some of the stupid laws in this country, who knows. Either way I really care less, maybe they are trying to cut some things to save us from paying a fortune for the car. Either way, as said before, if they don't mess with the guts, i'll gladly take it....cardboard AND candles if need be! Those deer will never see me coming!

some of you are saying woopty doo but to me it is a big thing. headlioghts are very important.. most of my driving is vacant highway driving with TONS of animals on the road. i wanna see them coming. i've already had one dieer hit my car.. i swerved around him and he ran into the side of my car! and that was in the first month... i've had several close calls since.

to me its a safety reason.

and the cops have a feild day with light tickets here in bc too.

How could they prove that your 2003 WRX didn't come with HIDs standard?

huh? stop global warming, ban HID?

maybe this is payback for us having heated seats as an option that the US didn't have?

bah... just order the HID lights and hardware from the US and you'll be okay... DOT and everything

does ne1 know how to get STi literature from subaru in canada? their last update was back in november 02 so it's really old... i tried doing the online ordering thru the american site but their system only allows US postal addresses

OK some more info

This is confirmed.

NO HIDS as stated earlier in post.
Rear seat pass thru will be there.
Heated drivers seat(my favorite option)
Radio/6 CD same as 2002/3 WRX has.
Silver/gold wheel choice

One thing I see from this is where do they put intercooler bottle. Guess we don't get/need one at minus 30c. I will try to find out about this.

how are they going to mount the seat heater swtiches? in some of the pics posted elsewhere it shows one of the heater swtich blanks being used for one of the 2 DCCD controls?

I think I noticed in another thread a photo of the intercooler bottle located in the trunk.

I did say heated "drivers" seat. By which I mean only the driver gets heated seat.

Scoobie Newbie
Yes the intercooler tank comes in the trunk that is why I asked where they will put it as the pass thru rear seat would be in the way.?????

ScoobieSnaX
Hows that rocket of a car you have holding up these days. Getting STI???
Colours I will check but I'm pretty sure same as US. I think you know that.
