Default June 28 - Northeast Regional Meet @ Marcus Dairy in Danbury, CT

2003 Northeast Subaru Impreza Club Regional Meet - Connecticut

Sponsored by: SpeedSport Technik & Marcus Dairy

Organized & Planned By: Dan (Zapix)
Hosting Organized By: Jay (Jay04WRX) <-- THE J-MAN

When: June 28th, 2003 (TOMORROW!!!)
Where: Danbury, CT
Place: Marcus Dairy
Time: 10am - 3pm

Address: 3 Sugar Hollow Rd., Danbury, CT 06810

Parking: Parking will be under the bridge at Marcus Dairy. They own the property, and it will easily fit at least 150 cars there.

NOTICE: Because I was lucky enough to get some sponsorship at the last minute, this should prove to be much more successful than I thought. However, while these rules applied before, I am going to state them here and now. I 100% fully expect all of you to follow these very simple rules!

1.) ABSOLUTELY NO RACING OF ANY KIND!
2.) ABSOLUTELY NO BURN OUTS OR STUNTS!
3.) ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS!
4.) ABSOLUTELY NO LITTERING
5.) PLEASE RESPECT THE PROPERTY AND SURROUNDING AREA!

There will be police nearby and watching. If you are found to be racing, or pulling any stunts you will be immediately arrested.
Also, Marcus Dairy is having a car show at 5pm. Those guys will start showing up around 3:30. So they have asked we leave by 3pm.

Drive After Lunch?: Nope! No need unless we go somewhere after 3pm! If SpeedSport doesn't have a problem, I might caravan down there to check them out. Also, there is the commuter parking lot up the road which I was going to use as a last resort. That should as I understand hold most of the group! Also, there is a carnival going on in Danbury by the mall, so if you guys want to check that out, you can!

Equipment: If you can, PLEASE bring your FRS Radio! It will greatly help at this meet. Channel for this meet will be 5. It is not mandatory, but they're only $8 at Wal-Mart if you don't have one... It's well worth having. It will make this meet go much smoother and more fun for everyone.

Name Tags: I have name tag stickers. I'll be giving these to everyone at the pre-meet, and as people arrive for the meet at noon. I'll be keeping them with me, and some by my car at the meet.

Who's Invited: Everyone!

PRE-MEET INFO: Since we have 10am to 3pm at Marcus Dairy, the pre-meet at the mall isn't needed. I will probably scout out that area a little to make sure anyone not checking the board for updates ends up going to the Mall.

So... Who's On The List?
Lots of guys from New York and CT, with people from MA, NJ and PA coming?!? WOW! You guys better start planning your caravans!

I have invited people from ClubWRX, NASIOC, WRXFanatics.com, and i-club. And... Some other places.

I'm guessing a good number of people on the list will be bringing somebody with them! This is going to be one great meet!

Total: 126+

Vendors that I know are on the list...

SpeedSport Technik
XXTuning
Platinum Performance Motorsports

HUGE meet so far! Come on! More people!

While I'm at it... Here's a little eye candy for ya!

Look for that car (or heck, any WRX will do!) if you feel lost!

Last but not least, there are some final words I would like to add in.

Jay (Jay04WRX), thank you very much for your last minute efforts and talking to Mitch at SpeedSport. This has been a big help to the meet, and should ensure it's success!

Big special thanks to Mitch at SpeedSport. Thank you very much for your help! You and Jay both have made this final detail possible, and taken a chunk of stress I've had on last minute planning.

Also a big special thanks to Sean at Marcus Dairy. I appreciate you allowing us to use your property to host this. I promise to do my best to make sure there is no racing, or anything that would cause trouble. While I've had no intention on racing or the sort happening, I hope you know I intend to treat the area with respect as I normally would. I will emphasize to people there to do the same.

Thank you to each of you for helping out this last minute detail, which for the most part is one of the most important details! When planning for the 2004 meet, I will certainly be looking to you guys for some help!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At about 1pm, a count was taken of 80 Subarus, and 11 miscellaneous cars there. I went out to lunch before 2pm, and got back before 3pm. When I got back there was a definate increase in the number of cars.

I would guess about 85 to 90 Subarus at that point, with 15 miscellaneous cars. I didn't have time to really take count and do the other things I wanted and needed to do. So, low estimate 100, high estimate 105. Might have been higher than 105, but was certainly not lower than 100.

With people who were only able to be there for a little while and not get included in a count, it was probably 110+.

So, a very good turn out on numbers.

Hopefully everyone had a good time being able to meet new people, see other cars, etc.

Not sure how the food at Marcus Dairy was, but I know a lot of people ate there! Being right there, made it pretty easy.

Again, thank to everyone for coming out!
Next year, I intend on making it even bigger and better!

Also, enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone that I got a chance to spend a little time around. I tried to get a chance to talk with as many people as I could, and had a good time talking to those of you I did.

Last, but not least, here is a list of the links with pictures so everyone doesn't need to search the threads for them.

If you don't have one, go get one! They're cheaper than you could ever imagine. $8 for a cheap one at Wal-Mart. If you want, you can spent as much as $50 on a FRS/GMRS radio with 7 miles of range. Note that FRS is a 2 mile range, and is what the NASIOC guys use. This will help keep everyone together, allow people to communicate within the mass of people, and even more if we go on a drive.

YES!!! they are a must for drives!!! i already own 2 and bought 3 morethe other day.(i am carvaning with a large group to maine for the rally) My radios do have GMRS but i am not supposed to use those channels..... something about a licens
