Default O.C. Import show

Just wondering if any of you were going to be in ocean city the weekend of june 6-7 for the import show? There aren't to many WRX's around here it'd be nice to meet some fellow subie owners. My car will be in the show, it's not much to look at and there's now way in hell I'll win anything, but i figure it wouldn't hurt. I probably woulda had a chance had I spent my money on things to make it pretty instead of things that make it go. I think the local track will be open that friday too.

How much to enter?

Default I'm in

I'll be there. I registered my 03 REX several months ago. I've got about 6K in mods, but will be going stock with it after the show............I bought an 04 STi last week (I'll be taking that too!).

I'll be making the 03 REX a little more friendly for the wife to start driving.

Or

May be parting out the car or selling as is.

Not sure yet.

If anyone wants to meet up that weekend, let me know.

i'll be down there - it's either work (on saturday) and free go-carts (auto-x on sunday in canton w/ redbull) or a full weekend at the beach - i think it would be cool to get together - let try and figure something out

I'd really like to have a little meet and do some crusing. I think the senoco you are talking about is around 80th street. During the hot rod show the other week two friends of mine got pulled for spinning tires on 85th street and I went south a few blocks to the senoco to wait for them. So I would say its around 80.

Anyone else interested?

Directions to Ocean City from Glen Burnie area.

First, find your way to I-97 south

Take I-97 south until it splits at route 50/301.

Take the left split for 50/301 east.

Pay $2.50 toll at the bay bridge.

Follow 50/301, until 50 and 301 split.

Take the right split for route 50 south.

Follow Route 50 for another 90 or so more miles and you'll be in Ocean city. You can take route 90 which is about 8 miles before you get to Ocean City. That road will put you around 33rd street where you'll make a left, and head up about 10-15 streets to the convention center on the left.

Speedtraps:

Between Kent Narrows bridge and 50/301 split

long straightaway about 10 miles further down.

Cambridge: slow down when you are near the end of the bridge that goes into cambridge. Cops like to sit right at the end of the bridge where the speed limit is 35.

Linkwood: just past cambridge, you'll see railroad tracks and linkwood fire department on the right. I've seen them hiding behind the fire dept plenty of times before.

Vienna: They sit all over the place around there, especially near the bridge.

Other than that there are a couple of spots between Salisbury and OC, but none really stand out to me as much as the others.

speed safely and carefully

You should really watch your speed between salisbury and OC I've seen as many as three speed traps a once in the area. But then again sometimes there aren't any. Every now and then they break out the "cherry picker" . The state police set up a bucket truck with one cop in it. He radars you and then when you get up around the next bend you get pulled by his partners. They only do that a couple times a year though. Its ussally between willards and rt 90, its kinda hard to explain the exact location.

I came back from OC yesterday and there was 1 point with cops just chillin pullin people over. I also saw a bad accident on Rt. 50 east.. this red car was completly flipped and had the front end ripped off of it. no other cars in the accident.

Yes. forgot to mention the willards rd area. good point on that trap. again, hard to describe. Also if you go through delaware, absolutely slow down if you are on rt 13 near the shore stop in farmington. the sherriff sits there 24/7/365 for some reason.

I'll never forget the lambo countach getting pulled over by a cop with a radar gun sitting in a dumptruck (trooper hiding behind) in cambridge during the cannonball run in 1995 on my way to senior week.
