Exclamation Fairfax/Richmond/Hampton Roads Unite the Clans Meet on Sept 26th & 27th

Unite the Clans Meet

Purpose:

1. To provide excitement and enthusiasm for the Subaru Challenge.
2. To allow Subaru of America personnel to get an accurate headcount for planning purposes.
3. A meeting of all Virginia Subaru owners.

I am making this post and purposely calling out all Subaru Owners in the area to include the Hampton Roads, Richmond, and Fairfax groups. There may be several other groups that are still within a comfortable driving distance that have slipped my mind though. Please refresh my memory and I will add your group to the "call out list". It is my hope that since this event is somewhat centrally located, it will draw out the largest Subaru Owner's attendance in Virginia.

The event will start on Sept. 26th at 7pm. The location will be the Sheraton Hotel Park South in Richmond, VA. This event will feature a casual meal, and a great opportunity to meet fellow Subaru owners. It will officially last until 9:30pm. Due to work schedules/driving times, don't feel bad if you will be showing up "fashionably late", just show up! For those so inclined, please feel free to spend the night at the Sheraton. The next day at 8am, we will be going three miles east on Midlothian Turnpike to the Cloverleaf Mall. We will then talk, assist, brag, and cheer on the participants of the Subaru Challenge. The Unite the Clans Meet will officially end around 5:30pm on Saturday, September 27th.

Participation in the Subaru Challenge is for Subaru vehicles only. This is sponsored and paid for by Subaru, so please try to make this a fairly exclusive Subaru event. We all have friends/regulars at our meets that don't have Subarus and they are more than welcome to attend, but please don't advertise this event as some sort of "car show" where every Tom, Dick, and Harry will show up.

Event Deadlines:
1. Sept 19th: Hotel reservations after this date are subject to hotel availability. Reserve a room here.
2. Sept 19th: Subaru Challenge sign up deadline. Sign up here.

I will be updating this post with additional information as it comes in. If you wish to add anything, please PM me for it's inclusion to this post. If you will be attending please state real name, username, any guest(s) amounts, and your Clan. Unless otherwise notified, there will be 4 Clans. If you are an independent, please post your City/State as well.

2003 Unite the Clans attendees:

For any Hampton Roads people interested, I will be getting a hotel room for this event. Any and all people who want to share the room are more than welcome. Cost will be divided by roomates and as long as you don't mind sleeping on the floor if we run out of bed space, it will be fine by me. I would encourage you to bring a towel though as sometimes hotels can be conservative with their issuance of towels. As the room purchaser, I do claim one towel and dibs on a bed. Big Dave said he would go too and doesn't mind spooning, which being married, is now second nature to me! Please post if you want to room share with me.

If anyone is interested in a caravan up to Richmond, we can meet at the Ruby Tuesdays on 60 Towne Centre Parkway in Hampton and drive up together. We can decide a little closer to the event what time is best for everyone, with the different work schedules and all.

I;m checking my school schedule trying to check to see when tests are. I'm trying to get my friend to go but he doesn't want to. He's a bum with a dropped 01 RS and he's falling out of the car scene slowly. I'm hoping this will get him back into it.
Well hope I can see you guys there, Micah

You can always co-drive! The more people that go, the better the chance that more Subaru customer appreciation events will be planned to thank those customers!

I'll be there, Fredericksburg YO! In case you didn't know, Fredericksburg is where nasty skanky rice goes to die. Very sad state of affairs around here.

Well, we Marylanders are coming too Actually, I do not know who else is coming from Maryland, besides me.

If any N.VA and MD Subiests want to meet and caravan down to Richmond late Friday afternoon, send me an e-mail and I'll coordinate the ride. Unless of course someone else is already coordinating

This is going to be fun, can hardly wait

I will be at the Subaru Challenge, but I'm not sure how much time other than the challenge itself I will have to hang out. I managed to combine the Subaru Challenge and my girlfriends birthday into one weekend in Richmond
