Default Another WRX stolen - 9/26 - "Jimb's"

My friend Jim's WRX just got stolen as we were going out to lunch from work. It was stolen in our work parking lot. He asked me to post this, asking to keep an eye out for it.

I think his name on this board is 'jimb', so some of you might know him. We work in Bloomfield, which is where it just got stolen from. Other surrounding towns, Clifton, Belleville, Newark, etc.

His car was black, big STI wing, pink suburu emblem, on the front.

Thanks for everyone's help.

-Erik

Car is gone, sometime between 10:00 and 12:00. Stolen from work in Bloomfield.

2002 WRX, Black, Zero Sports wing with the oem effects and eyelids.

Keep an eye out.

Everyone that doesn't have a fuel pump cutoff put one in now.

Holy crap! I'll be on the lookout as I cruise thru Newark today. A coworker mentioned that she saw a silver WRX parked by itself in a construction site under an overpass in Newark this morning, but I guess nobody's missing a silver one.

Jeeezus! This is crazy! REALLY sorry to hear this, man.
Was there any broken glass or grill fragments? Any ideas how yours was taken?

Is it me or have ALL of the recent stolen WRXs had noticable/exterior mods?

I ordered a hood lock yesterday. By the end of next week I expect to have it installed along with a fuel pump kill.

I'm looking forward to the first post titled, "My fuel kill foiled a car thief."

Plate: LWR-14T

This car along with possibly an Audi S4 and a Blue STI (also stolen) were seen on parkway south this afternoon coming down from the Clifton/Bloomfield area.

THis is OUT OF CONTROL!!!

I am not far from the afformentioned areas.....in West Paterson with my STI sticking out in the parking lot........I'm watching around like a hawk for these missing cars, since I'm in a "not-so-great area" in P-town.

Good luck everyone......

Click on MaxiGuard on the right side. I ordered a 5-foot cable based on the advice of one of the customer service reps. A member also suggested 5-foot, but neither seemed to be absolutely sure. Check my thread in the Security Forum on hood lock length.

I've read that you can pick one of these things up on ebay for a bit less than the $99 listed on TBS. I figured since I wasn't 100% sure of the size, I'd pay the extra money for the option to return it.

Guys

**WATCH YOUR CARS NOW **

I was going to go out and buy a club this week, and install a fuel pump cutoff.

DON"T WAIT, I didn't think anyone would steal my car. My office overlooks the parking lot and I look at my car at least 20 times a day. I know it was out there at 11, I walk out to go to lunch at 12 and it was gone along with those other 2 cars. I feel sorry for the STI, it was brand new, didn't even have plates yet..

Three cars taken AT ONCE?!?!
INCREDIBLE!

All of those club type devices are worthless. Even the clutch/brake one. Despite the ad claimss, they can ALL be beaten in no time.

One of the first wagons stolen in this rash of thefts had LO-JACK, THE CLUB, and the CLUTCH CLUB!!!

I didn't see my car, the police told me they spotted the cars. They knew my car was stolen before I did, a witness saw one of the cars being stolen and the three cars leaving the lot together.

And I **JUST** Got my car back yesterday from Town Motors (thanks Garrett!) for having the Clutch TSB done. DAMMIT.

All these rexes being stolen lately, this isn't a coincidence. There has got to be a 'ring' behind this as stupid and "gone-in-60-seconds" as that sounds. How many stolen so far? And just people on Nasioc, imagine the ones not reported.. Ugh.

They may not necessarily be connected, but it's obvious that word has gotten out on the street that these cars are extremely easy to steal.

This sucks balls !

I think the count that I know of is 5 or 6.

It's either a ring (it's corny, but look at the audi's) or a-hole theives like joyrides.

Either way this is so bad all of a sudden and there's not much we can do.

I'm gonna hire some dude to sit in my backseat with a shotgun while my car is parked.

With the STI and the WRX in this thread, I count 7 thefts and 2 unsuccessful attempts. The first was on 8/10 and the two attempts were done back in July.

I can't even begin to imagine how many more have been stolen from non-NASIOC members. Something tells me we're all going to see a bump in our insurance premiums.

I agree as well, this is no way a coincidence, too many Rexes stolen in the same area. Guys, do NOT buy anything from anyone selling parted parts/pieces without confirming where they are coming from. Also keep a lookout for anyone parting sh** on these boards as well as the other Subie boards. Fanatics/Club/etc..
