Default COBB stage 2 question

i bought my wrx about a year ago. Quickly i began to notice its performance or lack thereof. the reason why: the bastards that sold me the car didnt include a complete stock boost soleniod, the car was pushing default 5 psi!! so i got a greddy ebc and problem fixed. so now ive done a few mods and want cobb stage 2. but cobb stage 2 isnt designed for an ebc. can i stil run the ebc? what problems may i encour...does anyone know. help please

thanks, Dan

You don't want to use, nor do you need a EBC with Cobb Stage 2. Just go to their site (cobbtuning.com) for more info.

I have Stage 2 and love it!

well since a reflash uses the factory boost solenoid to control boost, it probably wont work in that respect. i would think that the only reason the reflash wouldnt work otherwise is if the ecu rely's on the factory boost solenoids' readings to function correctly.

so honestly, i dont have an answer for ya. contact COBB Tuning, perhaps they can help.

i'm pretty sure it will still work, just set your ebc to the boost levels of the cobb stg 2 and you should be fine.

Email cobb or give them a call. They could answer your question.

couldn't you just go to the dealer and have them change the stock boost solenoid? is your car still under warranty? yeah, i'd get the stock boost solenoid and get that stage 2 upgrade from cobb. you won't regret it. the cobb stage 2 doesn't work good with an EBC mainly because with an EBC or aftermarket boost controller, since weather conditions vary, the EBC doesn't use any of the sensor inputs to calculate air volume, what it actually does is trick the ECU into allowing more air flow into the engine. the stock boost control works in conjunction with the ECU, therefore, safer results with more power. with the stage 2, a/f ratios are rather lean to begin with, hence more power and better fuel economy and this is with the ECU calibrating proper a/f ratios giving you the best result in safer conditions and may i add, SOOOOOO SMOOOTH!

wow, great price. as for the boost solenoid, you could probably source one from your local subaru dealership. not sure how much it will cost.
