Talking Parts discount for Hampton Roads Subaru owners!

Today I was in a meeting at Perry Subaru with Greg Gretes (our favorite salesman) and Danny Dimmick (Parts Manager). What came out of this meeting was really good news for us local Subaru owners. Here are the details:

10% off accessories (turbo gauges, arm rest extensions, etc.)
20% off OEM parts (gaskets, body panels, etc.)

For those of you reading this outside the Hampton Roads area, Perry Subaru will ship items via UPS Ground. Any order over $50 receives free UPS Ground shipping. Other shipping methods will be at additional expense.

Parts ordered by noon on Tuesday will be received on Thursday. Faster parts receipt is available if there is an immediate need, but additional expense will be added due to increased shipping cost of the item(s) to Perry Subaru.

Occasionally, there may be an item where the retail cost to dealer cost ratio will not support the full % off figure. In this case, you will receive the maximum possible discount that the parts department is able to give. An example I brought up and was researched was a new shortblock. There simply isn't enough markup in this type of item to allow the full discount without the dealership actually losing money on the transaction. I assume everyone understands this premise.

Please understand that the Parts Department at Perry Subaru is now behind us 100%. As with anything new, there may be a growing pain or two, but realize that the folks working there will do there very best to accomidate us in any way they can.

To order parts:
(757) 965-8411 (best way to place an order)
1-800-777-3779
[email protected] (2nd best way to place an order)

Danny Dimmick is the Parts Manager if you have any questions, but he has assured me that the entire Parts Staff at Perry Subaru knows about this discount. Ensure that you mention the "NASIOC Discount" prior to ordering any parts.

My thanks to Greg and Danny for their support! I will be emailing this thread to Danny and Greg to view. If you have any questions or want to make a comment, please post!

Ron

Anyone can get in on this, even rhdude. I asked them specifically if they would ship stuff to others who know about the NASIOC discount and they said sure. I would imagine that something big and honking like a longblock would utilize other shipping methods than the free UPS Ground though. You might be able to convince a few hardy HR souls to drive it up to you though. We are always looking for an excuse to do something.

Doesn't it seem odd that the STi wouldn't come with an STi short shifter?

wow, thank god I got really good service from them. Fixed my 5th gear for free, guess I will be going back there. By the way, did you get a quote for a STI shortblock from them, just curious if they will do any discount at all period. Of course no shipping because I live like 20 minutes away but still. Thanks and look forward to using that discount. Too bad I bought my crush washers from Casey, I could have saved 20 cents :P

I specifically asked about short blocks, long blocks, trannies, etc. With those huge, high cost items, the price structure is way different than say a $12 gasket. There isn't enough mark up in those items to support the full 20% discount. Danny told me that if that situation should occur, he will give us local folk the maximum allowable discount that he can get away with and still have Perry Subaru make a buck or two on the deal. Apparently if he were to sell those items at 20% off, they would end up losing money on them. Call/email Danny and let him know you are on NASIOC and he will give you the best deal he can.

Like you said with big ticket items I can understand but I hope they can give some kind of discount and to think I was going to order one and be mailed. Save some money and shipping, not bad. Too bad they don't take Paypal, they give you a line of credit and you never use except for emergencies and here is one (not really but still). It's ok I wait a few weeks

down on Newton Rd in Norfolk, probably the best dealership compared to everything around here, Casey is crap so to speak, and RK yeah my experience there was hilarious, don't get me started. Perry did my 5th gear work for free so I have no quams, and they gave me the big red Buick boat for a loaner, oh yeah

The new number for parts at Subaru is (757)965-8411. Great guys to buy from and they are usually a few bucks cheaper than anywhere else I could find.
