Default RS pads

Will the front KVR pads fit a 2001 2.5RS with stock calipers and rotors?
If so, how much shipped to 01879?

khail19 - check your PM's

tribegolfer - If you purchase F&R's together, they've been already further discounted. You will save some $ in the shipping when you get rotors, lines, pads and fluid together vs. separately.

02redwrx - Yes the pads will fit. Total for payment via MO is $80.99US.

the pads, how do they compare to the Carbotech Bobcats? I was told that for autoX and such you need a better brake pad. ALso, the rotors, how many times can they be turned? HOw long could I use them for? What kind of pad wear should i expect? 10k miles?

thx

WS6toWRX - The pads are designed for hi-performance street, auto-x and some light light track use (not for lapping days). Not having used the Bobcats before, we can't give a direct comparison. There are many members on this board the GC body style RS' along with Legacy GT's who've used our rotor & pad combo and have absolutely loved it. Some have used them for auto-x, and some for light track.

The rotors can be turned down to stock limits. It really depends on how warped they'll become after your use. In regards to pad wear, again, it depends on your usage. Some people have been able to get 25K+ miles on them.

After a handful of aggressive track days, my stock USDM STi rotors are developing micro cracks... probably onle a couple track days left on them.

Are the iON/KVR 2-piece STi/Brembo replacement rotors track worthy?

How much for replacement disks when they wear out?

Thanks,
Russ

rlavalle - Which pads are you currently using on your STi for track days? If you're using these for track only, the slotted versions are highly recommended.

We haven't had any issues with our 2-piece rotors under track conditions.

Replacement discs are ~$250US each, however when it comes time to replace, all you need to do is to send them back to us and we'll install the new rotors as well as dynamically balance them again.

For track days, I've used Porterfield R4 pads and Carbotech Panther XP's.

So the $250/disk includes replacement at your location?

Thanks,
Russ

What's the price of the 2-piece rotors for a WRX with OEM brakes? How much lighter are they compared to the stock rotors?

rlavalle - $250US/disc includes the labor for doing the swap over etc. All you need to do is pay for the rotors and the shipping back & forth.

In regards to track pads, you may want to consider trying the Ferrodo DS3000, they are VERY good.

TheWRX- the 2-piece rotors for the stock WRX braking system are $649US/pair + shipping. They are ~5lbs lighter compared to the stock ones. Best of all though, is the internal cooling is superior compared to the OEM rotors since they're directionally viened/vented as well.
