North East Subaru Smackdown (Auto-x)

Years ago, there was a thing called the Subaru Auto-x Smackdown that was held in NJ or Philly. It was where I met Sean for the 1st time when he lived in Philly... sometime in 2000.

Then there was one in 2001 and if I remember right, 2002.

Last year there wasn't... but this year... It's BACK!

When: Sat June 12th.
Where: Englishtown, NJ
By Who: NNJR SCCA

This is one of their normal auto-x points events, but should be a fun time. Since we're not part of their points structure, and not to mess up anyone that runs locally, we won't be running for points in any of their classes... so for anyone that heads down, this is just for fun... no prizes. (I wonder who has the paddle??)

It's a fun day to say the least. Any class that you run in with the SCCA is what you'll still run down there. Shooting for Top Pax. (Open to anyone)

What the hell class would my car fall in anyways? It's been awhile since I've pulled out the algorithm required to read an SCCA solo 2 book.

Sure they do.. they just put them in whatever class you're running to help out your handicap.

Just booked at the Motel 6 in East Brunswick...

244 State Route 18
East Brunswick, NJ 08816
$58 for Friday night.

It's about 10 miles from the site and at exit 8 off the Tpk.
2 full size beds and room on the floor for two others if they don't mind the floor.

It should take 4 hrs to get there from where I live and about 4.5 hrs from Boston... and I'm planning on leaving right after work (5ish) from my house. We could meet somewhere in CT... or just meet at the hotel.

$25 for SCCA members and $35 for non SCCA members.

· Gates open 7:00 AM
· Registration open 8:00 am - Closes 9:30 am
· Tech open 8:30 am - 9:30 am
· Course walk closed 9:30 am
· Driver meeting 9:40 am
· First car off 10:00 am
· To Enter the Site, goto GATE 4, NOT Gate 3, This is the Airport entrance

DIRECTIONS TO ENGLISHTOWN
From the NJ Turnpike, exit 9. After the exit bear Left onto rt18 south. After about 5 miles you will see an Acura dealer on your right, go 1/2 mile, at the bottom of the hill will be a exit for Englishtown (527 South), on you right (small sign). Take this road about 6 miles. You will see a large Raceway Park sign, Bare Left here. Take your 2nd left to Gat 4 ¼ mile and enter through the fence in front of you

I will probably be getting a much needed alignment on my way down to Jersey on that Friday so maybe I can meet up with anyone on the way down.

1. Its cheaper
2. You can keep an eye on the car.
