did that fog light from ebay have that chrome cover around the fog lens?
If its between $250-300, it will have the chrome exterior housing. The link I posted to ebay is just for the lights themselves. What you see is what you get.

Step 1: Get down on your knees
Step 2: Bow to me
Step 3: Where your fog lights "would be", shine a light through the honeycomb looking port cover (Figure 10 in PDF)
Step 4: You should see the connector on the side adjacent to the radiator. Its plugged into a dummy port with Green/White wiring.

Again, for the ebay link, what you see, is what you get. No nuts/bolts, switch, relay bezel, nothing. Just the lights. You could go to a dealer and see how much the additional parts will be. My estimate is about $100 + the lights, but I haven't actually done any of the work yet so I don't know.

Here's a parts site and you can research yourself:

I just picked up a 2012 without fog lights because i knew they would be basically useless. I plan on grabbing a set of Hella projectors and mount them in the factory location. Might have to fab up a bezel or cut the block off plates but I know it will be worth it. I also have the sport grill and am considering getting a set of Hella Black Magics to throw behind the grill. Nearly invisible when off but massive light when they are on.

Wow never seen those Hella driving lights before, cool technology! Any idea which specific model fog lights you'll be going with? Far as I've read, the stock lights with a yellow tint make them great for fog, but no real difference as driving lights.

Also, the real ticket is to retrofit the headlights with projectors. Looks too involved for my skill level, but man are they sweet.

Cool! Just an FYI, you might talk to this guy. I just bought a set of stock fog lights for $150 shipped. Don't know if he has any left, but worth a shot!:

So question...you are running HIDs without projectors. Typically, this is not optimal, as there can be too much light scatter (vs. a focused beam). What's your opinion on that?

You will not find the plugs under the hood. When you take the inner fender loose under the car, the plug is right there near where the lights end up. You do not have to run any wires for the install.

hey thanks! blurr pretty much described the location of the plugs...and I actually saw it! Now the question is, could we change the Bulbs?
to HIDs or any after market yellow bulbs?

The bulb is listed as 2504, see here:
http://bit.ly/VkOI3w

2504 is not a common bulb type...so might take some research to figure what will work. It may also be: PSX24W

So you could do search for an HID kit or something like that.
One example: http://www.blindinghid.com/b.php?bulb=2504

As for me, I'm just going to cover with yellow tint such as this:
http://www.jdmfanaticvinyls.com/12-1...6_7911132.aspx

,..I just installed a set of the led bulbs (9005) for the highbeams, they look really nice but the downside is it deleted the HIghbeam itself! I guess its just for the DRLs....

Thought I'd post a pic of the switch bezel, as you will need it for installing the OEM fog light kit. You don't, however, need the fog light bezel. The only advantage to replacing is the kit comes with a chrome ring around lights (vs. stock all black bezel)

I just installed the switch and the relay on an Impreza 2013.

Installing the switch was a trivial thing to do, took about 15 min. I did ruin the original bezel by removing the blank plates from it. If you care about it, be very careful when pulling the blank plates.

As for the relay... Well I spend over 1h30 trying to remove the glove box without ever managing to properly do it. In the end I was able to put the relay in and put back everything together (watch out for the glove box light that keeps popping off).

I wish I had checked under the glove box before any of this, because it turns out that the relay panel is in plain sight and easily reachable without having to do anything. Just lay on your back with your head under the glove box and your legs outside the vehicle. The relay panel is right there above you and the slot you want is the closest one (bottom right).

Still have to install the lights, I'll probably do that tomorrow.

Haha I had the opposite experience. Switch bezel was a pain in the butt and I definitely ruined the old plate getting the switches out. I definitely wouldn't think about cutting the original plate for the fog light switch, it wouldn't look pretty unless you deem yourself skilled in plastic cutting.

Relay wasn't as bad for me, glove box came right out when you disconnect the catch on the right side. I pulled way more screws though than the install manual called for. Almost freaked out when I saw white padding, thinking it was my airbag. I was lucky it was only padding between the plastic and airbag container.

Lights were pretty simple, just remove body clips and one screw to get access to the light ports. Had to pull on the wiring a little bit to get the slack I needed, but all is well and the lights work great.

2 Things I noticed though:

1) There's a slight hum when the car is on but not started.
2) There's a slight gap between the lights and light bezel, which could allow for moisture to get in.

Anyone else have that, or for those with stock lights installed, do you see a gap?

I finished up the work. Installing the lights was pretty straightforward.

I do notice a hum coming from the main headlights. I didn't notice this before you pointed it out and had the fogs installed, but I doubt it has anything to do with this installation. Unless you activate the fog light relay, there is nothing electrically different than before. And again, the hum is coming from the main headlights.

The humming/buzzing sound isn't there when the headlights are cold. That explains why I never noticed it before.

Is there a gap between the lights and the chrome bezel for you?
