ej20g block with ej205 heads
I was doing some looking around and saw that the ej20g blocks are closed deck which gives me another alternative to the ej22t block. If i used the ej20g block with ej205 heads and all other ej205 parts, ej205 headgaskets cams, rods, pistons, etc etc, would that work? If my assumption is wrong could some one give me some info to correct that?
Thanks Travis

Crankshaft, needs to be phase1. Make sure it's well.. or new if you want. Check bearing clearances if polished crank. That block isn't really that much different from an EJ205. Just use the newer tensioner, etc on the block.
It's kind of like me running the EJ22T block with most everything '06 WRX stuff on top. |

Most of the EJ20Gs are open deck. Only the very early ones and RAs are closed deck. I'm sure somebody else will reply with more specifics.
You need to use the EJ20G crank, the thrust bearing is in a different spot. Otherwise, yes you can use everything else from an EJ205 and it will work. |

Do you really need a closed deck?
