Boost/fuel cut-off CEL, Stage1 STi
I wanted to get local opinion on an issue I have been experiencing:
Here is my (rather lonely) thread on the 2.5L powertrain forum Thanks

Hmmmmmmmm, if you were catless, I'd say Ah-Ha! But since your stage 1, I say . Good luck. Maybe Mika or somebody all-knowing will chime in.

I have an update:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...8#post11936678 In a nutshell, I updated to v1.10 of the stage1 93oct map and did not experience fuel cut-off or CELs. I hit 18.4psi (according to the AP) in 5th gear, somewhere around 5500rpm. shutterbug |

Sebastian - target boost for stage 1 map on STi is 16.5psi..... I think you're overboosting, which is not a good thing. May be a function of it suddenly getting cold and the computer not keeping up with the boost control, but I'd keep an eye out.
And get a boost gauge. |

Now, regarding the boost guage, I am finally convinced that I need one. Do you have any recommendations? I would prefer one that has PSI. |

I've got the OEM one, which is fine. Doesn't read in PSI, but .1+1-tick would be target. You don't have to spring for the fancy ones, since, if it works, it works.
I didn't realize you were running the HWG map, in which case, yes, if you're overboosting, definitely go to the regular map. Oh, and I parked next to you. You should take a picture, it's cute |

One of these days, we need to get all the subies lined up in the carpark and take a few shots. |

Me, all-knowing? Now that'd be a sad world to live in! Try putting the stock airbox back on. That could be the cause of it overboosting. PO244 code present? Read your other thread. It could also be the hwg map that you flashed your car with. Try flashing a regular stage 1, 93 octane map on it first before you start yankin' intakes off and putting regular airboxes in. Mika |

I suppose I can try the LWG map and see if that brings me back to the mid 16's. I am sure my intake may have something to do with it, but frankly I like the Typhoon over Cobb's intake. The Cobb intake doesnt appear to "sit" as well. I think the only reason Cobb say not to use other SR intakes is because they want to sell theirs. There, I put my $0.02... Seb |

I'd just run the stock box. It's plenty great.

I have a stock WRX and I am hitting 19 and 20 PSI in 2 and 3 gear! What is going on? I think our Texas cars are not use to the cold! But I got a cell getting on the freeway so I'm sure that means I hit the fuel cut. I just saw this thread but I posted a new one too.

I'm sure people get mad about cross posting but sometimes that is the only way to get the info you are looking for.
If you look at my other post before I got the CEL, I was having the same noise. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ise+full+boost I think maybe you should replace the vacuum lines. It was only $2 a foot for the good stuff. It may or may not help but it seemed to fix my problem. Matt |

I took out the Typhoon and put in the stock box. Results:
- Car is quiter, although there is still a feint "woosh" to be heard - Still hitting high 17's psi See other thread for details: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...7#post11962217 BTW, I am going to offer my Typhoon for sale since I dont think my Cobb stg1 needs it. It has less than 10K mi on it and is mostly assembled. If you are interested (before I post it up FS, just PM me). Cheers Seb |

I don't have my camera with me today. I will take a pic of it when I get home. The line has a fabric on the outside that is braided and it is the same thickness as the stock. They also have a rubber inter coating. They also fit better or they feel like they do.
