Default Sadly filed Lemon Law paperwork on my 2017 Impreza Sport today

Asking Subaru to replace my car, which has been in the shop constantly for the same radio/camera/eyesight/battery drain issues.

Car goes back in the shop April 10 (I am out of town until then). Long paper trail of unsolvable issues.

I love the car, but not when the infotainment system and safety systems keep failing.

My 5th Subaru since 1992. Combined none had the issues, over 25 years, of this one.

Florida is very consumer protective per Lemon Law buy back and replacement. Happy for that.

Wish they had really done the testing and R&D necessary on this car before it was released. Far too many of us have had the exact same problems, crushing trust in Subaru, damaging their JD Power ratings, devaluing these cars.

So frustrating.

When they did the radio reflash did your shift points in the transmission change?

Man... that's a shame. It's definitely not a common issue. I think you unfortunately got a bad one.... My Sport is running flawlessly, little hiccups here and there but nothing is perfect in my eyes.

Hope things work out for you!

If you get a new Impreza, what happens if it has the same problem? (knock on wood, of course)

Also have they replaced the entire head unit and all associated parts in an attempt to fix it? I would think they'd rather eat the cost of doing that than having to give you a brand new car/money back, but maybe there are reasons why that's just not feasable, I don't know.

This is sadly the trend with first MY cars; look at the consumer reports history on most manufacturers and first years tend to have the worst reliability because they rush them out to maintain consistent refresh cycles.

Hopefully it works out in your favor.

The 2012 was an all-new year and it was great

And no, the oil consumption "issue" wasn't really an issue. It's blown out of proportion. Many other brands had at least the same percent of vehicles with an "issue" in models that were several years old at the same time.

Other than that, minor recalls/TSBs.

So, Subaru is replacing my 2017 2.0 Sport.

Ordered the exact same car to another dealer (first was Daytona Beach area dealer, new car arrives in 4-5 weeks in North suburbs of Chicago) and will be swapping out cars when the new car arrives.

Subaru is paying for the window tint, title transfer and other transfer costs, and is providing a 7 year, 100,000 Subaru extended warranty (service plan).

Original car build date was 1/19/2017. The new car will be six months newer. Hopefully they've learned a bit since the first build. Subaru is confident that the new car will not have these issues.

Took 6 weeks of negotiations, but worth it and we'll have a new Impreza, exactly the same as the old one, in a month or so.

Nice, if you have the CVT watch that carefully before the warranty is up. They're reliable enough but so far seem to be plenty prone to overheating because of improper cooling. That fries the "lifetime" fluid (which has no business being in there past 60k for sure...) which would equal a dead transmission before long.

If you have the manual... just enjoy it

edit: just saw you said automatic

Yes, CVT. I will not have it outside the warranty period of 7years/100K, but your advice is solid and we will be changing the CVT fluid at 2-3X the frequency, just to make sure it stays nice to drive and is reliable. Thanks.
