anyone notice the rear wheel sag with their hitch?
I loaded down my impreza on a 1000k road trip and my rear tires came back a little cupped on the inside.

Eco Hitch and Safety Chains Questions
I have some questions for those who have a Torklift Eco-Hitch installed and actually tow with it. What is it like using safety chains with this hitch? Are they difficult to attach to the hitch? Do the safety chains rub on the bumper? I could not find any photos or reviews that made it clear how accessible the safety chain attachment points are or if there are interferences with the chains and the bodywork. Thank you for your input.

Thank you. I don't care that much if it is inconvenient, as I rarely wish to tow with the car. However, if the chains rubbed the bumper, that would be a show-stopper for me. I'm glad to hear they don't.

You could also look at replacing the chains with more of a rubber-coated wire of some sort. After all, they're just in case anyways. Something like this might suffice:

Any rubbing might occur on the inside edge of bumper so it's out of sight. Just need to make sure you don't make the chains too tight.

With the Torklift Ecohitch, do you need the stinger for a bike rack to fit, or can you just fit the bike rack right in without one?
If one is required, does anyone know which stingers don't require a trim to 2-3/8"? Like if we buy a stinger through TL, does that one need to be trimmed? |

I have a Hollywood rack similar to this and it works just fine: http://amzn.to/1yafgbY Every stinger I've purchased hasn't needed to be trimmed or anything. Just my experience though... |

Quick question for those who have the Curt Hitch and did the install themselves.
I got mine on today, but it's my first time. 1. Did you guys use the spacer squares provided and on which hole? I ended up putting them on the bolts closer to the front of the car (1/2" bolts) because the hitch frame was hanging up on some metal. However, I think because of this, after I torqued them to the 110 lb-f required, the bolt is pretty much flush with the end of the nut. Should be fine? Spacer Picture You can see it would have been hung up on that coating on the right. Nut Picture Bolt flush with nut and all threads on nut look engaged. 2. Couldn't get my torque wrench into properly torque the other set of bolts (7/16"), so I just got it on as tight as I could with my socket wrench. Should I be worried? Not towing, just carrying a bike. Last edited by Chingyul; 08-17-2014 at 11:56 AM. |

EcoHitch for 2012-2014 Subaru Impreza is compatible with a wide variety of bike racks, many of which do not require trimming of the bike rack stinger. There are different EcoHitch fitments for the sedan and hatchback variants of your car. Do you have a sedan or hatchback? I would be happy to give you a better idea of your bike rack options based upon your type of Impreza. |

Has anyone devised a mount for a wiring harness? Right now mine is just zip tied behind the bumper.

Zip ties are fairly durable and unobtrusive, and look pretty decent usually if you clip them nice...

2" hitch on a 2.0 2014 Impreza?
Will this Crosstrek hitch fit on an Impreza? http://www.curtmfg.com/part/13135#tab=vehicles The frames and exhaust are the same just wanted to get an opinion here... + it's 150 cheaper then the torklift option. |

For your Impreza hatchback EcoHitch you will want to make sure that the bike rack stinger does not exceed 4 inches from the center of the pin hole inward towards the vehicle. Most bike racks are between 2 and 3.5 inches for this measurement. This ensures that the stinger will not contact the muffler when inserted into the EcoHitch. You should have your choice of a wide variety of Thule and Yakima bike racks that are compatible with your EcoHitch.

Does the torklift ecohitch still fit inside the bumper fog light cutout if it's the 2" model? Or only the 1.25"?
