That heat shield looks very nice...

It doesn't look like it'll fit all setups however...

Does a guinea pig get a discount?

I have a Larger TMIC, and aftermarket DP... And for the time being I'm running my stock VF39 turbo. I have a feeling it won't fit the next turbo...

PM me if I can help test fit one...

this is something we will have to consider

Nearly certain this will not clear an aftermarket turbo,
but it may clear a few of the downpipes out there.

We'll have to do some research.

I'd hate for anyone to spend $50 on something which does not fit.

Oh man, I'd love to run heat soak temperature tests on the stock TMIC and maybe the turbo comparing this to stock. I have all the testing equipment to do it too. ohh, the possibilites! I'm pretty hesitent to buy it though, because I plan on upgrading to a large TMIC sometime (a long time from now because I'm poor).

just added!

Notes from the Manufacturer

The heat shield bolts up to the outermost bolt hole on the stock TMIC
bracket, it will fit the STI and any larger than stock TMIC

It fits over the stock turbo heat shield (you can install it on a larger turbo as
long as the WG actuator doesn't get repositioned so it's in the way)
and it also will work with any aftermarket down pipes.

So basically, if your TMIC replaces or does not use the OEM TMIC bracket, you cannot use this item.

If your turbo repositions the wastegate actuator, you cannot use this item

otherwise, it sounds as though it is a go.

there are your answers guys!

I got my SPT intake in the mail from Jaime today and installed it during lunch. Very nice product and awesome service (as always).

I've only put a few miles on it, but it does seem to breathe a bit better up top and I can DEFINITELY can hear the turbo now.

Ouch!

I was just contacted by Subaru

Seems that the Instructions are NOT CORRECT

Instructions state they fit all 2002-2007 Turbo models

when in fact:

they suit only the 2.5L turbo models

sorry guys...
looks like a major type error in the instructions.

Jamie,

I'm about to order several items from subarugenuineparts.com - but the oem parts catalog area of your web site seems to be unavailable frequently.. are you having problems with it?

Also, do you sell higher capacity fuel pumps for the wrx 2.0L, such as the Walbro 255?

Thanks.

I wonder if the radiator shields fit the older Imprezas. I'd love one. Been eyeballing the Primitive Racing one for years, but it costs more!

Here's a question for you, then. You may not know the answer, but maybe.

I'm doing a WRX swap, probably an '04-'05 engine by the time I get to it, later this year. I'll be swapping radiators, too. Do you think the shroud would then fit, or does the frame of the car also not work with this piece?

Is the turbo heat shield for the Forester the same as the one for the Impreza? On your website, they're using the same picture but they have separate listing (you can order one for Forester or Impreza).

Got the new shroud and heat shield today (within two business days after ordering, as always, and I always select regular ground shiping ). Makes the engine look so much prettier. Turbo heat sheild will definitely fit Cobb downpipe. I think they're both worth their prices. Can't wait for more SPT stuff. Perhaps there'll be SPT intercooler hose sometime?
