(HELP) Cincinnati OH: 10 minute tire swap
(Help) Cincinnati OH: 10 minute tire swap:
There is a noise from my car that is most likely wheel bearing or tires. It is a loud noise that is most audible between 40-70 and becomes faster and higher pitched with speed. its kinda of a drone I dont know how to describe it other than it sounds like a bad tire or bearing. I went to michael tires plus (home of my lifetime alignment and wheel balance) and they aligned and balanced the car. I told them about the noise and they inspected and test drove it. They determined that the car made the noise on the road during the test drive. they put it in gear on the lift and drove to the same speed equivalent and the noise was NOT there. This would seem to indicate that the problem is the tire and not the bearings. They pushed and pulled on the tires to see if there was any noise or play in the bearings and there was not. Please not that I replaced the REAR bearings, hubs and knuckles with new subaru parts 3-4 years ago. I also replaced the FRONT bearings, knuckles and hubs with used, but good condition, and less miles than mine. After installation they were tight and did not make noise. Here id what I am suggesting to help diagnose the potential problem Someone with a car (subaru probably 02-05) with a 5x100 bolt pattern who has wheels and tires that are undamaged and making no loud noise. IF the noise goes away I hav a bad tire or a few. If the noise is still there it is not the tires. Who can come to loveland Ohio 45140 to help me out? Loveland is 25 mins NW from cincinnati OH. PM me NAte |
