Default why do sti clutches cost more than wrx clutches

arent they interchangeable?

i think there is a slightly larger surface area on the sti clutch but for roughly $200 more (on average), wouldn't one be better off with a wrx clutch?

i have a ej257 with a jdm ra v4 trans... im running an exedy stage 1 clutch and i want to know what clutch, (affordable), would be good to hold up to around 380 to 400 lb-ft trq? if the clutch i have is good, then awesome. I am asking now because my car is in the shop after a motor build and i would rather replace it in there rather than find out the hard way and start slipping.

they aren't really "interchangeable"

usdm 5sp vs 6spd.

like doing 6spd swap, you can keep your wrx clutch/pp/fw setup.

you can also you use a sti clutch/pp/fw setup.

what you cannot do is use a 6spd in a 5spd 'cause it is larger.

for example.

ACT msrp is just around $100 for the difference of the 02 wrx 5spd to the 07 sti 6spd.

act prices are going up, hit up vendors for best prices now before they go up, not sure when its happening, but its quite soon.
