Angry Lexus is300 rally commercial? No subaru one!

I've been thinking about whether Subaru will do commercials in the US for the new WRX. Then I just saw a commercial for a lexus is300 tooling around in the dirt. I didn't catch the whole commercial but it looked like a rally type commercial. What does Subaru get, another Paul Hogan commercial or a trio of lesbians . Those add execs better do a good job with the new WRX!! (Sorry I had to vent a little cause the rest of the world gets rally commercials with subaru's flying through the air!!!)

Yeah, that commercial you're talking about deals with Lexus and BMW. Two huge names in rally......NOT! Subaru has very poor advertising here as far as I've ever seen. Yup, they'll probably just do the Paul Hogan and Martina lesbo thing! If you remember they had very few RS commercials. Maybe they'll push the WRX a little harder since it's so ugly and can't sell itself!

Why did Lexus do a rally ad? It was funny, my wife was laughing at the people running when the Bee-Em came around the corner. But the ad was so out of character for Lexus. Subaru should and could capitalize on its rally heritage and racing in ads for the US WRX- even if it is relatively unknown here, rally video of cars flying through mud and puddles and getting air and such gets people talking. Remember the new beetle rally commercial? Same concept.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one p!$$ed off by these commercials. Car companies with absolutely no real rally experience is making rally commercials while Subaru(a 3 time champ) is making commercials with the Crocodile Hunter and 3 Rug munchers!(sorry if anyone is offended by the last remark!) I'm sure it costs them more to hire those celebrities than make a commercial with footage from races. In fact, they can just run commercials from other countries.

wow so true! (about the comercials... don't wanna offend PC sensabilities).I HATE
those "rally" comercials. worse off they're funny and memorable so they work really well.

i usually end up yelling at the TV like some old crotchity geezer..."you don't know anything", "subaru's been doing that forever", "stop misleading ppl with your false advertising"!!! etc. etc.

Subaru has got to do something to show the rest of the population what this population already knows. subaru builds dominant rally cars. i think the only way at least some ppl know this is, sadly, only because gran turismo is such an awesome game. i was actually thinking of writing SOA about this. i was gonna tell them to explain the Impreza's rally heritage and how it shares the WRC car's chasis (or close to it). i was gonna chastise the ad execs about it but then my ADD kicked in again and i never got off my lazy but to do it.
:P :P

First off there is a rally commercial based on the Impreza TS model. It's really kewl. Has footages of the WRC car.

Second, I really hope the WRX commercial will not air as I don't want the public to know of this gem. Let them keep buying other cars. Smart ppl deserve to receive the reward of the WRX cus they did their research. Not because some shmuck saw a commercial of the WRX and decided to buy it over a Jetta.

You know what I love...
Watching speed vision... the WRC stuff...watching the Subaru Jump around...power drift through turns...makes me feel so good. THEN
"This show is sponsored by subaru" WOW Kick ass!! they sponsored it..should see some nice subaru commericals! So I Am all happy, then the commerical comes on.
Legacy wagon....WAGON!! ***!! This should be a commerical for the RS or the new WRX, or SOMETHING sporty!! But the stupid wagon (no offence). Man that makes me so angry...if the person who does Advertising for SOA would get his/her(lesbo) head out of his/her(lesbo) ash then they would see that this is the best time to advertise the car that is being featured in the show!!!
AHhhh....Ok....breath....Ahhhhh...gonna get a yellow wrx...ahhhhh
I just get a little pissed at that.
Keith

PS. there is NOTHING wrong with lesbo chicks..I wish more were like that

Actually Lexus(Toyota) has a lot of rally experience (Celica, Carolla...) But I do agree Subaru needs to make a rally commercial for the WRX.

i personaly hope they sell lots of WRX's, (but not so many as to be "another WRX on the road, i just saw one). that brings the price down and keeps the car here for more than a year. Look at all the other awsome cars that we stopped buying and they went away. Supra, Rx-7, Turbo Eclipse, 300zx. America so far has shown that it would rather have gas guzzling SUV's rather than gas guzzling sports cars. Although i wish a license was as hard to get here as it is in Europe. In driving school they learn how to correct oversteer, and other ways to actually drive and not crap like how many inches do you have to park away from the curb and at what distance from an intersection you can change lanes. That would eliminate some cell phone talkin soccer moms, and make more room for us enthusiasts.
Sorry i went off there for a second..........
im better now

I think Speedvision is sponsored by Subaru, it seems like every show says that. I think it's a form of subliminal advertising.
"This commercial is bad, but the show you are watching is good. Subaru is good. You like Subaru."

Indeed, SpeedVision is the best reason to own a TV!

I hope SpeedVision gets big enough so it can split off into branches.

Can you imagine, SpeedVision News, SpeedVision Automotive, SpeedVision Marine, SpeedVision Aeronautic, SpeedVision Motorcycle, SpeedVision Racing. Did I leave any out? The best part about this is that we could watch racing or automotive every day, I'm not really interested in the Marine and Aeronautic stuff even though it is pretty cool too.

What Subaru needs is a commercial that has 3 lesbians rally driving. It's possible.

Have you guys seen the Audi commercial where they said that they were disqualified improperly from racing the BTCC since of the advantages of AWD systems they use on their cars? It was cool seeing them race going thru turns and doing 4 wheel drifts. But I'm thinking to my self, most Americans don't know that Audi races let alone know what BTCC is. If Audi can use these kinds of races in there commercials then SOA can for sure use the WRC to tell people that the WRX is a performance coupe. But they probably wont since we are talking about SOA after all. sigh...
