Version 1.0:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...13611&page=217 There's a Nexus One thread, a Droid thread, a G1 thread, etc etc... What if I want to post something or ask a question about Android that is not related to any one phone in particular? I'm posting it here. Other Android related threads: The Droid thread - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1867362 The Nexus One thread - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1910866 The G1 (HTC Dream) thread - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1621408 AT&T finally to get off it's ass and start selling Android devices: Quote:

Because it is the HSPA+ version that supports Tmobile and ATT...and not verizon's LTE.
HSPA+ networks, while incredibly fast are not REALLY 4G, even though providers will tell you otherwise. Don't worry though, that is the real deal Galaxy Nexus GSM. |

Technically speaking LTE isn't 4g either. And HSPA+ in reality is often just a MB/s or two slower than LTE currently is. If you're already on a unlimited data plan that your happy with I wouldn't switch to Verizon for the LTE GN unless the 32GB storage is an issue.
Also: ****ing Verizon, I'm really just a hairs breadth away from leaving them. |

how does Sprint's WiMax compare to hspa+? from what I understand it is slower, but they have LTE plans in the future????
Their "any mobile, anytime" calling and unlimited data is very appealing. I have att unlimited currently, but they charge me too much for calling. |

but uploading really isn't an issue unless you're sharing files? right? I'm ignorant to these things.

Sprints GS2 isn't the same as the Skyrocket (Sprint's has the superior Samsung Exynos/Mali). The Skyrocket is similar to Tmobile"s GS2.

Also, I need an app that will let me scribble notes on my tablet, convert them to text, and give me some way to somehow get them back to my notebook. Company meeting notes of **** that I need to do. I can't seem to get Evernote with Skript to install. (don't have access to work Wifi). It's a thought though. My Script sucks balls though. I can't even underline text with it. |

Alright... I'm just starting to pay attention to phones again, as I get a new one in about a month. Price is no object, I'm replacing my OG Droid, and while I like the looks of the RAZR, it seems folks here are all about the Galaxy Nexus. What's the upside of the GN that makes it preferable, and can either or both be used as wifi hotspots? (I tether for home internet and wireless would be preferable). Data and voice are unlimited on a business plan, so that's irrelevant; I kind of like the docking station/lapdock things, but they are not a must-have.
Thoughts? TIA P03w |

the whole Nexus thing, running ICS out of the box, better screen resolution...
Razr has very nice form factor and would likely serve you fine as a phone. The Nexus should be the most frequent updates and doesn't have any manufacturer skin inbetween itself and the Android OS. |

almost my thoughts exactly, I would add it just feel cumbersome. I have pretty big hands, and I can use it with one hand, but it's tough. people with smaller hands, or women in general, will have to use 2 hands the whole time. I find that to be something I dislike in a phone.
