Spectators are permitted to drive out on the course to find a hang out spot?

Are there out houses other than a oak tree ?

thanks for the info...

spectator areas are laid out for you, im not sure how it works. I am often a worker, meaning I can get very close to the event! very close, meaning I can often touch the cars coming by should they put wrong a foot.I have had to move quickly many times! The spectator areas are places i am sure, you are led to like anything. once the stage is "cold" you can go to another area, I really dont care if you come see me, as long as you are parked weellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll out of the way, and stay in the woods.
behind the tape preferredly and stay until the stage is cold, or you find a way to leave without endangering the stage itself.such is my job as a marshall of corners. we had a large crowd last year, but only under strict rules, park behind the tape, well away from the road. and stay in the woods away from cars.stay until stage is cold.

Spectators do not get to drive on the stages. All spectator areas are accessible off stage.

Even once the stages are cold, until the crews are all removed from the stages, no spectators will be permitted on them.

If you are interested in driving the stages, volunteer. You will be able to drive on the one stage until you get to your assigned spot and the stage captain will place you there.

If spectators are found in locations that are not official spectator areas, the stage will be CANCELLED by the zero car. Do NOT spectate in unofficial areas.

Is there a map of official designated spectator area avail?

I do not want to be the one to shutdown a stage, but want to see the action close up. Please share the info so I can enjoy the event.

we were able to put a tarp, chairs, some food and a camp stove in the back of my wrx sedan. then i had no back seat but at least we were ready. also, rain gear, in case the rain comes back. oh and a old gas heater! we were called the refugee camp because we looked like one! you will be out for a long period of time, so bring provisions for that.clothes, lotsa food and drink, shelter of some sort, (or the car) a cook stove like a camp stove if you can swing it, boy scouts: be prepared.
Best info here.

We had about 7 people come up a couple years ago from Augusta, caravanned in two STis and stayed in a little motel room the night before. The marshall meeting was very informative. We all had a blast. A few of us are trying to come up again this year.

If we do come up, I'm not sure we'll marshall as we didn't get to walk around but it was still tons of fun. Either way, plenty of provisions and rain/cold gear are important.

Ah, the Great Volunteering Dilemma.

Volunteer and ensure the event goes on? Or risk it and hope that others will volunteer in your stead so that you can get the flexibility to move around.

I would hope that people would volunteer. We're going to need as many people as possible this year - mainly because the event is SOLD OUT. We have over 80 competitors entered this year, so it's going to be GREAT! So please volunteer!

Just informational for me:

What is the requirement to volunteer? What type of workers are needed?

corner marshalls, timing, start, finish, ham radios.. anything ou can do will further the rally cause. Ask Anders and he may be able to tell you, hes on dirtyimpreza.com
its also got a chat room for whatever. good tires and ground clearence too! you wil need it.
bring a GPS, and maps and nav stuff. its easy to get lost, and fun to watch the gps freak out sometimes on stage when you take a road it was not expecting.hand sanitizer becase no out houses there.. the tree is the out house .

They've got everything. I've run start/finish a few times which is a panic for an hour, then nothing until the stage completes. General marshaling of crowds is a good way to start, but bring food and water because you could spend the entire day in the woods.

Fingers crossed for no rain this year. I'm really hoping that the weather is better than the usual sub 40degree stuff with rain.

Saw pics on facebook, wow all those wires!! Cant wait to see it back out there.

Check out the entry list, that is awsome! http://www.nasarallysport.com/result...entry-list.htm
I am stoked for this event as I am getting back in the silly seat and co-driving after a little break from it (although it will not be in a subaru, shhh dont tell anyone).

Anyone thinking about attending should, great event. Volunteer if you get a chance, get to watch from on stage and you can learn how the rally operates.

i need to get newer tires on my wrx. Other than the fronts are no longer legally treaded enough. I need deep tread to deal with the sand.

You took some great video last year... Would you be willing to help out the event and try some streaming video? Anders is looking for people to help out with that.

Should be easy to do even if you are just a spectator. Can you email anders at anders at pobox dot com?
