Default Alright, some Guru insight please. I've searched, and need some direct advice.

Repeated encounter with CEL code P1312.

Firstly, the mods I have:

A straight-pipe CBE and had an HKS ssqv bov on for a while. Drop in K&N ... that's all.

Advice that I've received:

2.2k ohm resistor - I don't have an aftermarket uppipe, so obviously not the recommended path of ridding myself of the code.

Replace the EGT sensor - Yes, I did that yesterday and replaced my stock BPV thinking that it would help deter the code from showing up again (The tech that worked on my car said that my BOV was making my car run richer, creating higher pressure in the area of the EGT sensor).

Today, was cruising along the highway (again, essentially stock except exhaust), and bam: CEL. While I haven't checked the code that came up, let's just assume for the sake of it that it's the P1312, again (I'll get the code checked to make sure, but I'm so positive that it's the same since it always shows up when I'm cruising on the highway at a steady speed).

The main questions:

1. What could be the issue if I had a brand new EGT installed, yesterday? I don't have an aftermarket uppipe .. so, exhaust?

*P1312 has been the only code I have been getting - I've checked several times before after replacing the EGT sensor last September*

2. Would installing a gutted uppipe (assuming I did it correctly), and ripping out the EGT sensor while replacing it with the resistor eliminate the P1312, altogether? (I assume it's yes, but I wonder if there are any negative effects to doing that - beyond just incorrect installation)

Please help. You're input would be greatly appreciated.

*Walks to door, and puts on flame coat. Exits*

**After the CEL had turned on and I had got home, I looked in the engine bay and noticed all the coolant was in the reservoir. Not familiar with how it works - but, shouldn't the coolant be circulating through the system? Literally, the coolant levels were all the way to the top - just beneath the yellow cap by no more than 2 inches. After I turned the car off, the coolant level in the reservoir began to decline back towards the "full" and I heard the coolant being sucked through the tubing.

- Could there be a problem with something that controls the cooling? Or, is it supposed to be that way.

i had a sim prob with my egt sensor, for some reason if i got on it hard and hit over 100 or top of 4th gear it would flash a code. i asked subaru and they sayed it was an egt sensor problem (they didnt tell me the number) i told the tech what i was doing (he was cool about it)when it happend and he said that it could be because the cat got too hot and sets the egt sensor to flash a cel.

Probably caused by the rich condition that your BOV is causing. Put the stocker on and I'll bet it goes away.

rid yourself of two problems at once....if you ditch the catted up pipe you don't need the egt sensor. Gut that thing.

although usually i am not a fan of solutions that don't figure out the "cause of the problem".... I think in this case it will be alright.
