Default Mods for a 93' Impreza?

Hello all,

I just bought a 1993 Impreza, and I really love it. First time I've ever driven a Scooby. Pretty fast (in comparison to my Jeep)
Well, anyways...
I've done a bit of looking, and I seem to be having a hard time finding web-sites that have mods for my car. I'm mostly looking for performance related, but I would like to dress up the exterior a bit. (it looks to plain for my taste)
Any ideas?
Also, what about personal web-pages? Something like: I'm Joe, and this is all the stuff I've done to my 93 Scooby...

Thanks in advance,

Seth

Well, after reading my post, I think I should clarify my intentions.
I want this car to look better and also perform better. I don't intend to turn the car into a race car or a show car. I would just like to hold up against all the Civics and Acura's around town. (both in looks and performance)
I also don't want to throw a lot of money at this all at once. I understand that mods to any degree aren't cheap, I just don't want to toss $$$$ foolishly.

It has the 1.8 engine, right? Not much you can do except swap in a bigger one which of course is not easy or cheap. The easiest performance upgrades will be wheels, tires, and suspension, especially anti-sway bars. As for looks, you could add a scoop and/or wing off a later Impreza, although they might look ricey.

Yes, it has the 1.8. I am not too keen on the idea of an engine swap. ($$$) I was thinking more along the lines of: Air intake, bored throttle body, better plugs and wires, maybe exhaust...
I am very unfamiliar with the Subaru engine, so I don't know if all these are possible.
As far as looks go, I was thinking about a new front and rear bumper, something a bit more aerodynamic. I kinda like the "ricey" look.
About the interior...
I'm thinking about accenting the interior. Changing the color of the HVAC panel, seat covers, or perhaps racing seats, white gauges. Anything that i can do with the steering wheel? It does have an air bag.

Looks wise you can put on an RS rear and front bumper, headlights and hood to give it a more aggressive look.

Theres not much you can do to make the 1.8 fast. You can make it a bit more peppy and more fun to drive. Intake, full exhaust, and light weight pulley will hlep.

If I were you I would make the hadling better. Sway bars, bigger wheels, shocks, and springs will make the car even more fun.

Gotcha.
So, any tips on where to go for the engine mods that I should do?
To repeat myself, I'm not looking to make a race car, just more peepy and fun to drive. I really don't want to go full bore and turn it into a complete ricer. Actually, a lot of "ricers" around town are all show and no go. I love the look on there face when a rather stock Scooby blows them away.

Look on ebay for intakes. Relativley cheap and some good gains. Borla headers for the 2.5 bolt right up. Go to an exhaust shop and have them weld on a 2.25" mid pipe up to a performace muffler like a 5Zigen, Stromung, or even a WRX muffler.

If or when you need a clutch, install a light weight flywheel. Best "engine mod " I have done and will still be able to use it if you swap engines later for all 2.2's and early 2.5's.
Exhaust was second best but I did not notice to much differance until I did the whole thing.
I think my best money I have spent on this car was on handling mods but it all depends what kind of driving you do and what you like.

Okay, all these suggestions are good, but the question still hasn't been answered.
WHERE DO I GET THEM???
Yes, someone mentioned fleabay, but there has to be a bit more reliable source for standard parts, such as ignition components? What about sources for the exhaust?
I know, "do a google search". Well, with so many results, I was kinda hoping to cut to the chase...

www.subaruparts.com
www.allsubaru.com
www.daddysscp.com
www.flat4racing.com

There are many others.

I would also suggest looking in the private and vendor classified forums.
