Bumper damage
Hey guys, so recently I got into a little bit of some bumper damage. So my question is what should I do? Have a shop repair it and repaint? Or New bumper? If you suggest the repair and paint where should I go and how much do you think I am going to be spending? Also if you suggest a place for me to try let me know! Thanks

You don't need a new bumper, that would require painting as well. Do those black scuffs cut through your paint or are they just marks on top of it that can be cleaned off with Goof-off?

Yah, that's one that looks like it'll actually buff off.
My wife got hit in her Crosstrek (parking lot at a church....the bastard just left) and pushed in the rear corner, breaking the plastic in several spots. Even though the car's 3 months old, we're not fixing it. Winter's here and some moron will plow into the back of it soon enough. |

Doesn't even look like the bumper took any damage. See if it will come off with some goof off and/or buffing.
And also make sure to check this thread out for another option: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2560096 |

Clean it up with some compound or Goof-off, you've got nothing to lose. Then you can decide if you're happy enough with it, or if it needs touch up paint ($10) or a respray ($400?).

SWP is next to impossible to paint match, even if you paint the whole bumper it may still look off.

Why don't you just use touch up? Nobody will even notice unless you tell them it's there.

Had a small dent in the fender, from a hit and run and the body shop could not match the paint of the SWP. They gave up after two tries and ended up painting the whole side of the car. Car looks perfect but it cost about 4K.

Jeff... DIY... just like others have mentioned: buff off as much as you can and touch up paint is your best friend for now... Reassess after the winter and decide if you want to re-paint.
