2.39$ mighty joes shamong nj.

55 gallon drum / 15 gallon tank = 3.666666 tanks full.

15mpg x 15 gallons = 225 miles.

3.6 tanks x 225 miles = 810 miles.

55 gallons x 2.39$ gallon =131.45$

how long would it take you to drive 810 miles, ron?

DRIVE MORE.

big difference between 20 gallons and 110 gallons though. either way, i agree with you about the not worrying part. i don't think it will be an issue at all.

...on a side note, i just picked up three 5 gallon gas cans for road trips. this actually gives me about a 600 mile radius now. i was playing around on google maps a little bit, and i can go tons of places now on e85 if i plan it right...

What I failed at trying to say was that if you've already gone out of your way to procure the boost juice and are storing it, then you'll probably make sure you get your moneys worth out of it when driving on it. Combine that with the 15-30% more fuel you'll use on average and it doesn't last long in the tank or the garage.

Keep working on tuning your cold starts! I had true E85 starting at 30 degrees last year with 2 cranks.... If you really cannot get it started and you need to go, add a gallon of gasoline to your tank and it will fire right up! My best start ups were with 70 psi base fuel pressure, and pretty close to stock startup tables ....more fuel during cranking and in start up enrichment tables will help...

Thanks.

I really think i get more excited about customers cars than the customers do.

I truly love doing it. Especially when i come across roms like yours running 40* of timing and 20* of avcs at redline which was causing the "boost" to artificially build up to 18.xx psi at redline.......makes me continually question why im not tuning full time at a shop.

On the last pull the car was at 28* of timing at redline, 0* AVCS, and down to 14.8x psi while still achieving the same mafv.....and the car is making more power.....

what can I say. I set my goals high.
On another note I need to put my car on an extreme diet to acheive that goal . Car weighs 3220 without me in it and a full tank of gas.

.

man, I'm telling you. Ever since OS came out, every schmuck with a laptop calls himself a tuner. If they have money, they open a shop and then you see some of the worst tunes on people's cars.
I try to tell everyone that you should get a tune from someone who has been doing it more than a year or two. (not to toot my own horn) I've been doing it since the 90's when I started on carburetor cars.

a lot of tuners don't have a firm grasp that boost doesn't = power or what AVCS actually does.

don't think i've ever had a tuner that was exited about anything until now . I love it when people are positive about things . I haven't gotten a hint of negativity from phatron . That makes me very happy . I also thank jaun for pm'ing me and selling them to me.

ron and mikey are def great for our community. great guys. guys i can hang out with learn from and turn my slowbaru into a real drag racing contender.

i'm with you witchita...i was really impressed with phatrons open arms , patience , and ability to make my 30r 2.0 go....from 3000 miles away. (don't even get me started about getting romraider to work on my laptop.)
you may have not had a chance to talk with stimikey but in alot of the same ways mikey really is much more than a mobile tuning warrior. i haven't had the pleasure of shaking rons hand yet, but i have had a beer or two with mikey , and hanging with him is like smashing down an evening with a guy you've been best friends with since elementary school.

i am looking forward to the day when i can drag race ron and mikey at the same event!

big up PHATBOTTI!

ron...mikey got a tuning gig while maintaining a fulltime job...what are you getting old or something? your slacking on your skillz bro.

No problem I am glad your car is running good now, and that Ron was able to take care of you quick. When I saw your data log I was like ohh **** ....

I believe one of our customers is the new E85 1/4 mile king with a 9.9 at 141 MPH. E85 from the local pump (Wilson Farms which gets their fuel from Sunoco).

551whp 485wtq /jasv11 /95 Impreza/ EJ257 + 6262 .82 AR/9.9 at 141 MPH/ID2000's/700 ft

Our dyno reads a lot lower than most so the WHP figure won't seem that impressive if you're not familiar with our dyno.

Drag timeslips, videos, pics here:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in 2007, my 96 Impreza went 11.4 at 121 mph while breaking in the engine on low boost (20 psi). It was on pump E70 with no intercooler. It was just a fun experiment, but I'm claiming the non intercooled record. LOL

well, for the last couple weeks I have been playing with my timing curve and I have new numbers...475whp/432wtq

...now for the bad news...i am going to have to pull the motor again because i think something is wrong with my headgasket. i started puking coolant out of my radiator overflow bottle whenever i do a full throttle run this past weekend. so...looks like i will be down for a little while...

www.e85refueling.com has a listing of the stations, but i have found that if you do a search on mapquest for e85 stations it works out a lot easier.

what headgaskets have you found to hold up? i have heard the stock one can handle quite a bit, and i am thinking that maybe the machine shop used the ARP torque specs instead of the subaru specs when they assembled the longblock.
