When you and a fellow employee with a WRX consistently park next to or in close proximity of each other at work for the past 6 months. Yet you have never met.

Don't worry about it man, just drive. You'll get better and better as you get used to it. I learned how to drive stick when I was 12, but didn't own a manual car until I was 26. I thought I knew what I was doing when I got the car, then looked back 6 months later and was amazed at how bad I was before. It just takes some time and practice.
Don't ride the clutch and you'll be fine. |

You know the sound difference in your car dragging and your flaps dragging.

Yep. And in a few months you'll be rev-matching without even thinking about it and realize how far you've come.

Yeah I'll probably look back in a few month and be like "wow such a noob" haha. Actually I'm already doing that when looking at myself 2 weeks ago. |

Turned my idle up to 1000 rpm on the accessport in traffic and it will just keep rolling in first gear. Saves a lot of leg work

I suggest trying it in a parking lot away from people to avoid making yourself look bad. |

Thanks for the info. I know how to start without using the gas. The other poster was saying he set his AP to 1000 rpm so I was just wondering if he's setting a rev limiter or launch control to 1000rpm or something lol.

There is and idle adjustment on the AP in the tune menu if I'm remembering correctly. There is also a timing adjustment but I don't mess with that. It goes from 0-300 in 25 increments. I turn mine up to 275 and that in my car equals out to 1000 rpm. No rev limit or launch control those are for different things. But in traffic you can take your foot off the gas pedal after you start moving from a dead stop and it will keep the rpms up high enough that you don't have to worry about stalling out or using the clutch. I do a LOT of commuting so anything that makes stop and go or slow moving highway traffic easier to drive in ill find it lol. Test it out. You may need to go up or down on your car depending on mods but you should be able to find a sweet spot to keep her wet lol.

Oooh that's a nice feature. I don't have the AP yet. I'm still waiting for my warranty to run out before getting one. I'm not sure if I can hold off that long though.
