Subaru Stars Who has made the 400 mile club?!

I don't know if this is anything to brag about, but this past weekend, my girlfriend, another buddy and myself drove out to see the Final Four in Detroit - Huskies were a real disappointment. The drive was about 750 miles according to the GPS we borrowed. On the way out there, we drove about 365 miles before filling up with 13.2 gallons - my friend insisted we stop before we run out of gas in East-Bum-*uck PA, no offense PA guys/girls.

Anyway, on the way home, we stopped to fill up at a BP in PA again. I used 87 octane from BP, and achieved 414.9 miles before filling up with 14.0 gallons. I caluclated 29.6 MPG... which is a personal record . Has anyone hit this or better?

I went up to RI from NJ and back and got 475 for that tank. The average was around 33! I drive like an old lady because I beat on her for work. At the time I was bone stock with a Perrin drop-in, tho I'm sure that prob wasn't a factor. By the way OP, nice car.

Damn... oWnEd...

I wasn't driving the entire time, and we did a couple 100+mph pulls on the straight-aways, so I imagine I could have done better. Oh well, better luck next time.

Nice car to you too, Lord...

My best has probably been somewhere around 320 (around 25mpg). I do strictly mixed driving. I'm sure I got higher than that at one point but I was oblivious of calculating MPG at that point.

My best was only about 23MPG on the highway in a older EJ22. My new EJ22 seems to have MUCH better mileage. The old one might have been seeing better days dealing with mileage.

Yep that's about me too. I do a lot of city and local driving as well as highway.

The times I am on a long road trip, I have lots of luggage and people so gas mileage just fails hard.

My personal best was 34mpg on my way down to minneapolis for a rallyX, with a detour well out of the way to sell some wheels. If I had to guess, it was approximately 120 miles of 70mph, and another 140 of 55mph / slowing for towns. Can't remember how much fuel was left in the tank, but it wasn't even close to being on fumes when I got done. Probably a tailwind though.

Typical DD mixed driving is between 22-25, and typical highway hovers around 29-30. 5-speed.

83 miles highway 75mph driving--needle hit the 1st mark on Sams gas. For a moment I thought the needle was broken.
Unfortunately I had to drive locally after that (Local mileage always sucks).

HAHAHAHA, I OWN all of you, at best I get 19.4 mpgs barely hitting 255 before I get scared and have to fill up. On the weekends I be around 15 mpgs.

I think I hit 27 MPG once in my WRX. Not too far from NA Impreza

i'm usually tickiling 410 on average from my 2.5i...if i drive uber conservitavely haha. the CAI and the catback doen't help in the MPG department. I did notice something interesting though; because of all the torque it puts out i see very little change in mpg when i have my self, my friend, 2 50+lb dh bikes, and another 100 lbs of gear in the car. most of my other friends with 4 banger cars expeierience terrible mpgs under the same conditions.

This isn't really a major achievement. I used to get 400+ on road trips on my non-avcs equipped modded 2.5RS. All it really requires is keeping the car at or below 80mph consistently for 400 miles. a good example of this would be I-15 from Utah to Las Vegas. Or US50 from Reno to Delta. Or. Or. You get it. It's just got to be a long wide open stretch of highway and some restraint on the loud pedal.

Moved from CO to MA and got 410+ per tank. Car was loaded full with junk too. This was last summer when gas prices sucked and I was driving to conserve fuel.
