Petersburg, VA ProSolo results
I was:
1st in STS Honda Street Touring Challenge winner 14th qualifier for the Open Challenge on Kumho Tires (712's for those of you who dont pay attention) And I held fastest 60' time for a street car on atleast one side of the tree. Yes that includes Dennis Grants 400HP AWD DSM! But not the 1.9 second or less mod cars. AWD's got nothing for an openwheel racer. Seriously though, it was tight. I won by like .094 or something. That is the total of my two fastest runs (1 each side) out of 12 total (6 each side). Under 1 tenth seperated 1st from 2nd with combined times of 58 seconds and up in the class. It was an extremely fun event, you should have been there. I wont tell you how much money I won, but you could figure it out. All Im saying is my face looked like this the whole way home. Oh yea, Im also not talking about how I blew it in the Open Challenge, its just too depressing now. Maybe tomorrow. The course was so straight forward it fooled alot of people into wasting time with wide lines. It was a perfect example of the shortest line is the fastest line. Every foot off of a slalom cone is one tenth. 7 'slalom' cones times the distance you are off each one in a 30 or less second course, a wide line was over a second slower, at best. It was my best event ever, I wish some of you could have seen it. I even wore my Mid-Atlantic Region club shirt today. And you missed my crowd pleasing, jump up to see it cuz you hear it, 4 wheel drift thru an offset, a kink and into the finish. It was awesome, and noone was there to catch it on video for me, . There is allways Harrisburg, PA., June 16-18. Eric Silver 99 RS

Excellent news Eric! I'm glad at least someone out there is driving an Impreza well at the national level.
The best part was the point about Dennis Grant: Knowing how your launches compared to his suggests I have a *chance* in Street Mod. See you on the 16th... -Scott |

That is awesome, Eric. They mentioned you as
'someone in a silver Subaru' on team.net earlier today when relating the informal results. They also all thought you must be running shaved Kumhos. Is it just me or is STS not considered 'cool' by some of the established crowd? Was Richard out there this weekend? Will you guys be up to Harrisburg next month? |

Scott-I have good news about Street Mod. Look for a post on the Tech board later today!
Kelley- The rumor at the event was that there are NO GOOD drivers in Street Touring. Any decent driver could step right in and clean up. The only thing I can say is, doubters welcome, come on out and check out the backside of my Scooby. But really, as with any new, there to allow some rice at events class, the 'old timers' who 'resist change' will have 'opinions'. Thats fine with me, Ill just have to win the National Championship, but I guess even that will be tainted by the 'lack of talent in ST'. I havent checked out team.net yet from the weekend, but I will. Eric Silver 99 RS |

Congrats Eric!
(How much did you win? My math isn't too good today) I have a friend of mine who was there and won ESP in his Talon. The red one, Fedja. He's one helluva driver. I can't wait for the Solo-II national Tour here in Mass in 2 weeks. Hehe. Gonna be some fun in ST...I can see it already... My predictions: Impreza 1st in STS Impreza 1st in STR Impreza 1st in SM As a side note...the SM so far has 2 cars...Ian's Talon and a turbo'd 98. It may be close as Ian is also a friend of mine. (Ya see...I used to have a DSM.) --KC [This message has been edited by KC (edited May 30, 2000).] |

Ok, since you ask, and it really could be figured out with the results above. Here ya go, sit down.
Subaru-500-first subaru in the Open Challenge Honda-500 Kumho-150-first in class, with 5 or more competitors SCCA-55-qualified 14th for the Open Challenge for a total of 1205 dollars. And about the Honda money (how cool huh) it was 250 for being top 2 PAX in all of Street Touring and 250 more for winning the Honda Street Touring Challenge race. And here is the Open Challenge depression. I raced a CS MR2. My first up is on the right, my fast side. I put a 1.3 second lead on the guy. Thats an eternity on a 29-30 second course, in the Open Challenge. Then, this still hurts to say, I redlighted. WAAAAAAAAAAAA. I need a good therapist. Instant DQ. Eric Silver 99 RS |

That's just freakin great!
Hmmm..whatcha gonna do with the $$? Too bad all the pro-solo stuff is too far away. I'd love to try Pro-Solo some day. Been doing Solo-II for many years, but ProSolo never seems to find it's way into New England. --KC |

Pay some bills. And maybe some super secret power mods. Well not secret, but super.
I really paid attention to some of the other drivers, especially, G.H. Sharpe in his AS Boxster, and mimiked their lines. Like I said, it was a perfect example of the shortest line being the fastest line. KC, You should come to the Harrisburg Pa ProSolo. You know Subaru will pay if you make the Open Challenge. I was the only Scooby in it this time so I got the 500 automatically. But if there are more, its decided by who goes further in the Challenge, or by qualifing position if there is a tie. At Peru I got 300 from Subaru, after I got KO'd in the first round. Richard West went on and ended up 3rd in the event, and got the 500, despite qualifing behind me for the Challenge itself. I know some of the Philly RS's are coming. More the merrier in my book. I tell you, if we have a large Scooby contingent at Harrisburg, Ill go up early and stake out a pit spot to fit us all. We can pal around and maybe the SportCar people will take notice and maybe some pic's. They are talking about the Scoobies alot, after Richard and my success at the last two events. Eric Silver 99 RS PS, if anyone wants alignment specs, send me an email. Ill pass along the information I have learned thru my testing. GS guys included. |
