Angry Cam Position Sensor Fix?

I'm looking for someone that has beaten this issue on a 02' WRX.
My friends car has been stuck at a Subaru dealer for weeks and they are saying that they can't diagnose it because he has an up-pipe. I'm trying to see if this can be fixed without thier help. If you have a fix or know of a Subaru dealer that has fixed one please let me know a.s.a.p.

Thanks in advance
-Dylan

The subaru dealer said that there was no flash available for his car. Anybody else have anything on this such as TSB # or a complete copy of the New England Subaru letter.

Yo, i had the same problem... I just replaced the camshaft position sensor, and all is good. I think the sensor cost about 36 dollars, so it would defintily be worth a try..

I do not think that is the problem. I have read that it is fixed with the ecu reflash. Maybe your fix will prevent it for so many miles....

You aren't the only one that has had this recurring problem.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=222282

right now my ECU is being sent to SOA for reprogramming cause the dealer here couldn't figure it out.

i've already had the the original CPS replaced too. Car is basically stock (i have an uppipe in it..but the code/problem was way before that got put in).

I hope the reflash or whatever SOA does fixes it. I'm tired of this problem and poor performance.
