Default MTS file conversion?

OT HD gurus...

I have several videos from a sky diving trip in MTS format. I have the right codecs on my computer to view them, but after a few seconds the codec can't keep up anymore and it begins to lose interlacing and the sound is lost.

Does anyone know of a free, basic mts file coverter so I can view these in avi or some other format?

Yes. I googled it. Who knows which of that software is legit?

If you haven't gone skydiving, you need to. Its the greatest feeling in the world.

VLC should play that program. or you could use the software that came with your HD camera.

See, the videos are from the card. I don't actually have the camera. I will however try VLC. Not sure what success I will have.

VLC could play it but still had major video and sound problems.

sounds to me like the hardware just cant keep up with the frame rate - use the VLC transcoder to downconvert it to a resolution your hardware can handle
