Fine knock learn issue
Guys whenever my calculated load (g/rev) is below 1, my fine knock learn is -8.75, is that normal? other than that it stays at 0, but there is the odd time it'll stay at 0 with very little load.. Now i'm even more confused because i thought i understood the relationship between the two. But that aside, if it is an issue, how to i remedy it?

This can be caused by multiple things. You could have experienced some bad gas. If this happened, and the low load timing + cam advance were each high, this can happen.
If the car was hammered on and the re is scoring or scaring in the actual cylinders, this can be another reason. Broken ringlands also can set the knock sensor off during low load cruise. Reset the ECU. See if it comes back. If it does, do a compression and leak down test. If they check out, have a tuner check/recheck the car out. -Mikey |
