Post Headlight crack on 02

I don't know if anyone else has this problem. I noticed some small cracks in the plastic headlight on the passenger side of my 2002 2.5RS. I first thought that the rocky roads of Michigan have claimed a victim, but then moving to the drivers side I noticed cracking in nearly an identical spot on that headlight. The cracks are at the separation between the main headlight and turn signal light and near the edge closest to the grill. I think it is very suspicious that I would take a rock in identical places on both the driver and passenger headlights and not have any other rock chips on the front of the car. If anyone else has noticed this on their 02 models, let me know.

There is definitely cracks in it. It looks like it got hit by a rock. But having it on both sides in the exact same spot keeps me wondering. I will try to get a picture to show what I mean.

I'm with WRXster. Sounds like the dealer prep might be the culprit. I have left over adhesive in the same spots. Maybe the dealer created the cracks when removing plastic? Let me know.

Unhappy

I have Stonguard (3m film) applied to my headlights and noticed hairline cracks on both of them. I have 30,000 miles on my 2002 RS and noticed the cracks within the last 3 weeks. Sounds similar to the problem that you mentioned. I plan to ask the dealer to fix these under warranty especially since I took extra steps to protect the headlights.

one of the 3m coatings is almost necessary, since the impreza has so many weak parts..

shouldn't 02rs queries go into new age?
