Default Drilling holes and preventing rust.

I am going to install an STi sideskirts onto my 07' 2.5i, which require to drill some holes along the rocker.

I am wondering what should I do to prevent the holes getting rusty in the future? Just put some silicone around the holes?

What does bodyshop normally do?

Thanks!!!

silicone is a tried and true method. or if you want to be more 21st century, use plastidip to cover any bare metal before mounting.

not to sure about the plastidip but silicone works fine.

I prefer to use a bit of touch up paint/primer on the hole first. Just the ones with the little brush. Doesn't matter what colour as it will be covered up by the side skirt Then silicone after to seal it.

Probably a good idea to get a nozzle and paint inside the rocker too.
