Broken down in Louisville (possible issue with Clutch slave/master)
Hello,
I'm currently stuck in Louisville, KY. When I depress my clutch pedal, nothing appears to happen, and it stays down at the floor. I live 8.5 hours away in Virginia, and am not very mechanically knowledgable. Being Sunday, there's no local shops open to help me. Is there anyone in the area that might be able to get me back on the road, or point me in the right direction? Specifically my car is parked in the lot of a hotel near the Expo Center. Thanks in advance for any advice/help!

That is rough being broken down far away from home . Id help, but Im in IL. Do you have a tmic? If you do, that would be the place to start disassembly. Remove that to have access to slave and clutch inspection plug. Also check the reservior for fluid level.

Thanks for the reply, Eddie.
I do have a TMIC, but don't have many tools, or knowledge of what to look for. The brake fluid level is fine (this is the same reservoir, right?) I tried letting the car warm up, and pumping the clutch a bunch, but neither of these seemed to have any effect. I at least have a hotel room, and a not stuck in the cold outdoors. |

PM me your phon number. Im in Louisville.
Also look up Kentuckiana Subaru club. If its going to the floor, its your slave. It might have developed a leak or gone out completely. |

If you still have fluid, some air might have gotten into your line. You can look up on google/youtube on how to bleed the line. Sorry if this doesn't help... just sounds like a problem i've had in the past and bleeding the line fixed the issue.

I met up with chuckls, and we pulled off the intercooler, and found the reservoir was empty. We filled it up and attempted to bleed it, but didn't have any success getting the car into gear, so I'm going to have it towed to the shop tomorrow.

Man, it sucks we couldn't get it bandaided so you could at least make it home and to your choice of shop. Hit me up if you need anything while youre still in town. I work 3pm-11:30pm.

I appreciate it. We'll see what they say tomorrow. Here's crossing my fingers it's not a week long deal to get parts, or a million dollars to repair.
