I was there.. it was crazy. The car spun out.. he was doin about 60 around a high speed curve.. trying to get that extra .1 second, and he spun out.. hit the curb with his driver's side and almost flipped. The curb was broken, but he turned out alright. As for the car. It couldn't be towed because the wheel wasnt spinning. Poor m3 =(
After about an hour and a half of waiting it started back up, but began to rain. I left after the 2 runs were done. |

By the way, the guy with the M3 crash was there with his NEW M3, flogging it again with a nice spin out. I guess he has his own ideas about break-in... Jon Futey 2002 WRX 48.695 (Nice!) fun day
Great job by Jon on the 48.6! I think Spenc liked the power...time for that swap. It was great to have a co-driver. I needs me some r-compounds, I'm really sick of street tires.

Yeah, Jon has a nice setup. New springs with Koni inserts, caster/caster plates and Rs-Kumho V700s. Good driver too. The course really seemed to suit his setup. On a very techical course at SCCA's at Englishtown, I actually ran faster! Strange, no?
By the way, at that same event, the fastest street legal car was a WRX sedan with JIC coilovers and V700s. Makes you go, hmmmmmmmm, doesn't it, Mark? |

man I sucked yesterday.....didn't get a good feel for the course until my last three runs .....
Was my first event with the mclub....and although I know I won't be that competitive with street tires, I was pretty pissed to find out that they bump you up a class if you are running an aftermarket BOV. mike sqc014 Last edited by tegnwrx; 06-10-2003 at 12:47 PM. |

Yeah, their classing system doesn't make much sense. A BOV bumps you up a class, but R-compounds, springs and strut inserts don't?

don't get caught up in the classing (which def. needs some help). They are a primarily BMW club so they class accordingly (afraid of boost). D was actually the quicker class than C anyway, so it helped you out.

That was a fun one! A bit tighter than teh last m-club, but also great fun. I'm finally getting a hang of these race tires... and the pressures needed for max performance. I initially bought them with full tread and they were squirmy, but now that they have a few auto-x's on them, they are much more solid.

Nino,
For both NASA and the M Club, the NBA and NHL playoffs have really limited lot availability. Now since there is such an outbreak of SARS in China, the Womens Soccer World Cup may be moved to Giant's stadium. So this = no available dates yet. |
