Lightbulb Body enhancements etc.

Just a quick note to all you guys out there looking for accessories and bodykit bits, go to www.subaru.co.uk and look in the accessories section, you can get varoius 'tarty' chrome bits as well as things like the STI front airdam. I have the following items on my car which the dealer had put on as it was a demonstrator:-
Front Brush guard (nudge bar)
Chrome headlamp and rear lamp grilles
Side Steps
Stainless steel rear hatch step plate
Chrome wing mirror covers
Black wheelarches

The wheelarches are good and protect from carpark accidents, although they were held on with crappy sticky pads. These were replaced twice by the dealer then I used some 'Sikaflex' marine grade mastic/sealant and they'll never come off now!
The side steps are useful for putting a bike on the roofrack and cleaning the roof. They also saved me from having to get a new door skin when I clouted a rock on the inside of a sharp bend in a narrow lane. I view the rest of the bits as 'sacrificial' as I wouldn't have had them had they not been there. I think the nudge bar will get nudged by other people parking in front of me as they won't realise that it's there.
The only mod I've done is to get front mudguards to stop all the crap going over the lower doors.

Question

Hello toerag,

Interesting news for us Forester owners across the pond. I was in London last November and saw a Forester S turbo that had been given the WRSport treatment by Prodrive. Needless to say I was very impressed by it and have been trying to enquire about the price of a WRSport backbox shipped to the US.

I don't see the STI airdam in the Subaru UK accessories section.

One thing I've been thinking about getting is the standard UK-spec grille for the S turbo - the one that has no chrome but all black mesh. Do you know if this is available from a UK dealer? I'm looking for one in Black Diamond Pearl which I know was available in the UK as well as the US for MY2000.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice,
Ed

Question Subaru co.uk

toerag..thanks for the info on the U.K.Subaru stuff!

Have visited the site before but cannot figure out how to contact/order short of a long distance phone call.

Went thru all the stuff and looked up virtually every dealer...not a one had an E-mail address that I could use for communication.

Am I doing something wrong or not looking in the right place? Help ....................

Hi Guys,
You could try my local dealer, Le Mont Saint Garage. Email [email protected], he may be able to help you (tell him Mark Page referred you). I guess prices would be slightly more than advertised due to the cost of getting the parts sent to Guernsey then on to you. For the STi airdam look under 'front underspoiler', I think it's the same although it may not be, having looked at foresterperformance's site. I've also seen the Prodrive WR version of the forester, it basically turns it into an STi more or less. I'm not sure, but I think it's been dropped from their website now though.
I've a couple of piccies of my car that I'll post sometime too.
If you thought finding American forester stuff on the web was difficult, it's even worse over here!!
Seeya!

You may want to look at the Australian site - www.subaru.com.au as they have some of the accessories mentioned above, you may get a better deal due to exchange rates and delivery times may be shorter. I also read somewhere that teh New zealand site has some different accessories.

Those STi front, side, rear underskirts are good looking. A little more subtle than the Syms kit.

I like the Syms grill better though.

Thanks for the links.

You guys might want to check out http://www.takakaira.com. They have body kits and performance parts for almost every Japanese automobile. They're a ton of body kits for Forestors.

They also list their products both in Yen and US $$ and they say they'll ship to the US.

Just thought I'd share.
