Felpro valve cover gasket for 2.5i
Hi Everyone,
Anyone have any problems with valve cover gasket kits from felpro? This is for a 2007 impreza 2.5i. I know that there are good reviews for their other gasket offerings, just wanted to see if there was additional feedback for the valve cover gasket kit. I did search and feedback is mostly for 2.5 Turbo engines. The savings over oem make it almost a no brainer, however, just need a comment on the quality if you have any. Cheers!

I just installed these valve cover gaskets with grommets on my moms 05 Outback. I guess down the road I'll find out how they hold up, but when I looked up reviews there weren't any negative reviews I could find.

I've had Fel-Pro valve cover gaskets on my Impreza for the past several years and they haven't leaked yet. I've always used Fel-Pro gaskets on my other cars, and I don't think I've ever had one leak.

I third this. I use felpro or victor reniez on everything. On subarus I try to use 6star. But those other choices are good brands from my past experiance

I just did the passenger side this evening but was interrupted by rain. I'll be doing to drivers side tomorrow morning and can let you know about jacking the engine up. The passenger side was a pretty tight squeeze though.

Is it safe to lift by pan I wonder? I am sure many have successfully done so, but I happen to have a spare pan kicking around and am not sure it can support the weight? It is quite thin |

Well I just finished the drivers side and I did not need to lift the engine. I'm sure that it would have made life easier though. It took a lot of tries from different angles to get the cover back on but it is possible.
For both sides I had to remove the metal cover around the fuel injectors. I drove for about 10 miles and there are no leaks so far (knock on wood!). I'm hoping the Fel-Pro gaskets will last for another 80k miles like the OEM ones did. |

So people are having success with getting the drivers side cover off without lifting the engine?
For those who did left the engine, how far up did you have to raised the engine to slide the cover off and is the engine stable when jacked up and unbolted from the 2 mounts and the pitch stop? Also, for those who replaced the gaskets, do you know the torque spec for the 6 bolts on the valve cover for the 06/07 2.5is? I know the rs imprezas needed only 3.7 ft/lbs but our cars don't have gaskets with the bolts like those cars do, so wondering if the spec changed? |

Always good to find answers to questions like this and plenty of input. Having a misfire issue and it seems to be a leaking spark plug tube seal, going to try and install the FelPro kit tonight.
