A#1 1991 Subaru Legacy 2.2 TURBO 5-speed for sale!
She is for sale with only 99K miles and only 55K on a fresh short black (Subaru screw up mechanic left the oil plug loose).... sooooo they gave in to (A NEW ENGINE).... She is a very nice two owner car and I have lots of picures. Only reason I am selling her is I have to many other toys, one being a McLaren M6B stage III prototype.. I put way to much time in as well as a 1896 Pontiac Fiero GT, 4 speed stick... with a 350 Corvette motor. SERIOUS INQUIRES PLEASE.... I have an Email from Subaru that only "15" of these black 5 speeds where imported into the USA... THIS IS A RUST FREE MONTANA CAR ...with all papers ================================================== ======= Car runs out great, transmission shifts nice and smooth, clutch strong, minor leak in sunroof from seal but needs a better seal it is an easy fix, besides I do not drive in inclement weather with it and she has a car cover as well. Drove from Indianapolis Indiana where I bought her and averaged 28 MPG. Very fast car I found out!!!! I know it will do the speedo.... Small wheel bearing noise in the front and the rear spoiler needs repaint, other than that she is original. Of course small dings..(((this is a 15 year old collectable))) No boom box, no extra boost, nothing extra to detract from this great little car. Original 99K on the car/chassis too *see my original post for details* with all records including all the dealer window stickers. The price in 1991 was 25K and they imported these into the country as an EXPERIMENTAL vehicle as well! I live in New Hampshire and I am entertaining offers but my asking price is $7500.00 Also I can be reached at 603-256-8686 and leave a message to call you back!

People just do not know the rarity of these cars, especially the 5 speed manual one.
I called FHI in Japan and talked with someone in engineering and they emailed me back saying only 15 of these where ever made in 1991 with the 5 -speed. He also said they where $25K and the average person could not afford one and some where turned into race cars, others where rusted and junked and others where crashed and parted out... Now do the numbers????? More where made with the automatic. Being black and a 5 speed stick... just think of the dealerships that would like to have this one on there show room floor. STI's are ok, but these are what made the STI's what they are today from the Rally circuit. At least that is my opinion........ |

If I was to keep this... how much HP could I make?
Who knows about making 350 HP from this 160 HP 8-psi motor?

What do you have that makes yours different than a USA model? Mine is a Canadian model as well with metric gauges. I like the 200 KPH speedometer with the regular USA markings on the inside for USA roads. Also.... I love the way the gauges light up red. Reminds me of flying in the Airforce with the KC-135's. Very simple to switch over to make it a 200 MPH speedo by changing the resistor on the back and soldering in a different one! |

If I had the interest in the 91 SS 5sp as I have in the McLaren, I would do some really radical and major things to the Suby. This is what I would do........ 1. Take a mold from all body parts and make them into carbon fiber as I have done in the past for other cars. 2. Tear out the interior and lighten every bolt, spring and what ever is heavy by switching to titanium when I could, with out going over board. 3. Have a spare motor built with as much HP and BOOST on alky to watch it turn some really sick numbers at the strip. 4. Put a parachute on it, because it would definitley need it when the Brembo's kick in to stop it at an estimated 180 MPH. Oh ya, some kind of downforce, preferably adult diapers... |
