? about 17 inchers...
Im hoping to get some new wheels and tires by the end of this summer. I think that would help the fenderwell gap a little and make the car look nicer. I would appreciate it if anyone with 17" wheels on their legacy's will post some pictures so i can see what it would look like.
Thanks

These are Team Loco 134 in size 17X7 +47. I also have FHI Ver5 struts with H&R Springs. If you want to decrease the fender gap go with new !stiff! struts with H&R Sport Springs. They lower the car about 1.5". The car handles awesome except the wheels are the wrong offset for our Legacies. The RS guys are able to get away with a 7 inch wide tire with a +47 offset but +50 or above is needed for the Legacy croud. By the way, want to buy my struts and springs? I will be selling them in about 2 weeks. I'm putting ver 5 springs on my car. This will raise it back up to about stock height. I want a little more ground clearance for winter usability. Let me know.

Silver Surfer,
Where did you find that grill replacement? I was looking for one like that. How much was it and do you have any pictures of the front of your car so I can see it better? Thanks Brad |

Sorry to get off topic, I usually do. Anyway, technically there shouldn't be any problem ordering the sideskirts from a GT Limited and having them put on a regular GT, right?

oh sorry guys! I was a bit busy yesterday and didn't read the posts. I purchased my SYMS Grille from TRiTuning. It came unpainted, i have a pic of it unpainted around here somewhere, I'll scan it later tonight when I get back from work. UH the price i believe was about $240-280? I don't remember the exact price. I had smashed up my OEM grille in a fenderbender and the cost of stock grille was even more that the SYMS grille! So why not get an aftermarket courtesy of my insurance company?
I believe Wings West might make a replacement grille as well and I believe another japanese company does, though it's name escapes me... You probably could order the skirts and install them on your GT. I believe they come prepainted from the facotry as they are plastic/eurethane? whichever. I've dinged mine up a bit and you can see thru the scratches that the paint is still there. So maybe the painted is embeded/dyed into the plastic. Note: they'd prob be a nice chunk of change to order from. In my experience, subaruparts.com has got much better prices than regular dealers. Don't order stuff thru their website, call them directly and speak to Scott in the internet dept. Also another note: The SYMS grille doesn't not come with all the stock mounting points. It comes with the 2 holes to screw into the frame on top. But the OEM has 2 clips on the side that clip into the frame. The SYMS does NOT. I had to have my bodyshop fabricate a extra mount for the grille as it would've rattled apart. He basically took 2 metal "L" brackets, attached them to make a bracket where it could bolt behind the center portion of the grille and bolt into the radiator support. Just to let you know it doesn't quite "bolt right in" Any other questions? Just lay 'em on me -chrisC |
