Default EJ25 Swap into OBS

Is it worth it to swap an N/A EJ25 into my '99 Outback Sport? Would it make more sense to do a WRX Swap? What will I need for the EJ25 swap? Prices? Places to buy the engine from? Etc.? Any words from the wise??

Thanks.

i am far from being the wisest here, but i thought i might save "them" their breath;

Q: is it worth to swap ej25 or ej20?
A: 1) how much $ are you willing to spend
2) how much time are you willing to spend?
3) what do you want?

there are approx 1000 different ways to approach this. an ej25 can be obtained for a reasonable cost (around US$1K or less sometimes). Whether it be from online sources (which you can find by searching this forum for ej25 sources) or from a salvage yard, auction yard, or what have you.
if youre looking to go turbo, you have choice of USspec or Japan. these of course will be more expensive (ranging from condition to year etc) than the ej25 alternative, and will require different ecu, tranny mods, and wiring.
there is a wealth of information concerning all of this available, start here:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=386462

once youre done reading that, and all the links coming from that, and all the links coming from the links coming from that, you'll have a better idea, of this i am sure.
happy reading and good luck
