My 2002 Bugeye de-ricing rebuild, clean-up aisle 5.
After 11 years of ownership it was finally time to clean up the old girl.
After 10 years of modding this is where she ended up. It was time for a change. First thing's first. Bye bye Morettes, Hello retro-fitted stock lights. Built these myself using Morimoto bi-xenon projectors from TRS. Testing the wiring. Whew........ they work.

Next step. Time to lose the huge snow plow JUN bumper (don't worry, I still have it). I had to dig into my stock parts bin, and here is what I came up with.
Bye, bye. This: Plus this: After this: Gets this: |

Not sure about the sticker on the fiber lip, wasn't that what you were kind of trying to go away from?

I wasn't happy with the two piece look so it was time to break out the panel bond and plastic bumper repair and here is what I came up with.
All one piece. Base coat: Clear coat: Much better: |

Time for a new grill:
And some new wheels and ChargeSpeed Mirrors: I was happy with the wheels, but lost interest with the mirrors and went back to the stock ones. |

Now the real fun begins.
I was pretty unhappy with the current condition of the paint as well as the dings and small chips that she got over the years so it was time to drop her off at one of my favorite shops IAG for some much needed remodeling. I am also losing the rest of the body kit for JDM spats and aero guards along with rear bumper spats and a HKS diffuser. Imperfections and damage all marked: Last edited by RALLYT-WRX; 11-26-2012 at 02:41 PM. |

Time to remove the doors and interior trim so the block sanding can begin.
And how she currently looks. And just a little preview of what's to come. I will update the thread as more work is done to it over the next 2 months. Enjoy. |

Wish I could keep a car that long. Cool to see what was in 10 years ago compared to now.
How much money you think you have wrapped up in that car over the 10 year span. How many miles? |

I never want to add all that money up. It would probably make me sick. Luckily when I bought my car the WRX was still very new and I got a lot of those parts for free thanks to sponsors. Car has 56,000 miles on it. |

Got some updates this morning from IAG.
Some spray outs they did for me testing the different shades of candy for my carbon fiber pieces. Mike from IAG Collision taking care of my clearance issues on the rear quarters. Thanks again IAG for all the great work your doing! |
