Exclamation 2005 2.5RS Injen CAI on a 2006 2.5i

first of all, i don't want to hear your oppinions about intakes... I just want to know if and how do I get this to work? there are only 2 holes on the intake and there are three air hoses under my hood.... do I plug one of them? if so, which one?

get a little T-section thing to route the needed pressure to the other area [I am turkey tired, so I forgot the correct name for it]. I think that is what people have been doing to get it to work

go to autozone or somewhere similar, buy a half inch vacuum tee, the passenger side hose goes on the fitting on the passenger side of the intake, the heater hose on the driver side and the other breather hose that is in the middle of the intake manifold need to share the one other fitting, to do so use the half inch vacuum tee and some extra clamps and combine them together so u have one hose coming off to connect to the fitting on the intake piping. u might need to do some cutting and use the stock heater hose to make an extension off the tee

-1/2 inch vacuum tee
-3 extra clamps
look it up i have a thread and so do otheres showing hoe

Don't tee it, that's not how the system works. You have to drill an extra hole, add an extra nipple, and figure out how to make it completely air tight.

And after all that work it'll still suck.

Well since you had to give your two cents mr all knowing... Have you ever tried taking one of these and chopping it up to connect it to the stock torque box? But keep the rest of it the same?

^ Typical of Subaru engines. Look into a catch can.

Oh, and don't try to fight with williaty (usually), he's pretty damn knowledgeable.

You don't want to keep the stock torque box, it's a restriction (and also has nothing to do with torque but that's a different argument). You want to keep the stock airbox and Helmholtz resonator. I haven't cut up an Injen myself as I'd never spend the money on one, but there's a thread floating around here somewhere by a guy who did. It worked out just fine for him.

i'm not trying to fight... I was just wondering... I thought it was the torque box that was needed to be kept... so you're saying it's the snorkus? personally... even if I don't gain anything (performance) wise out of it... it sure sounds a hell of a lot meaner on WOT without the snorkus haha to each his own...

Yes, the snorkus must be kept if you don't want the "rich" phenomenon under ~2000 rpms.
