Default I want to disable the lock/unlock beep sound

Do any of you know how to do this? Do I have to go to the dealer for this? Any tricks with the key fob, like you can do on the Nissan's?

I kinda don't mind the lock beep, but do you really need a beep when you unlock the car?

It's in the owners manual. Too many steps to list here. Did mine the other day.

I didn't see that section in the OM. I did it and it's all good now. My fiancee was laughing her a$$ off watching me do all those steps.

I've disabled mine as well. One nice addition is that the beep still works if you hit the "lock" 3 times quickly. So for those memory impared that are searching for the car in the parking lot you can get the "beep".

Much nicer without the beeps. It did seem overbearingly beepy and its cool that the manual tells you how to turn it off. Its an odd series of moves
Kinda like a cheat code on an early Nintendo game!
I wonder if I push up, up, down, down, left right, left right will give me 30 extra hp?!

This one felt less awkward than disabling the seatbelt alarm. That one was amusing.

Wow! That's some much easier than holding a series of buttons down on the key fob, like most companies use.

I do have to say. You will never accidently turn it off/on. I have done that with the key fob before on other vehicles. It does make more sense to make it a more complicated process. Its really one and done. Cant argue with the logic.

Yeah, I had a Ford years ago that the keys would press the buttons while the fob was in my pocket. I just don't understand the "Put the key in the ignition. Turn it on/off 6 times. Hold your breath for 20 seconds. Run around the car 4 times while patting your head and rubbing your belly etc" for simple fixes.

This worked for my 2013 Sport Wagon! Thanks! Now I can sneak into the house late night without the beep waking up my dog and having her bark and waking up the wife.

What would you like them to do? Require a $300 ECU reprogram each time you want to disable it?

I don't think anyone would want that. However something with less steps or less complicated steps would work.

Like on my 12 Focus, if I want to program the tpms sensors all I have to do is tap the hazard light button 6 times and it goes into the programming mode. Previously, I have read, one would have to hold the brake pedal down and cycle the ignition.

I just disabled my audible cherp and it was easy. Took me three tries only because I didn't shut the drivers door after opening it.
Is there a way to turn it back on?

I'm doing mine this morning. It is also nice to know there will still be a way to find the car in the parking lot without using the panic button (or a bicycle safety flag or Top Gear balloons). I've been driving a slightly lifted F150 since 2002 which is pretty easy to see in any parking lot.
