Unhappy Just hitting 14 psi on cobb stage 2 map instead of 16psi

Before I bought an accessport for my cobb turbo back exhaust i did some research and found out that i would be hitting 16 psi of boost. After i installed the accessport i noticed a big difference in power with the stage 2 reflash, but i'm only hitting 14 psi. Any idea why that is happening? What is the best performance map?

What gear are you hitting 14psi? I believe you should only hit 16 briefly in 4th through 6th before it tapers down to around 14 before redline. I could be wrong. See what some one with more experience with the AP has to say.

When I was running an OTS Stage 2 map, I was only hitting 14 psi. Why I really do not know (it could be a number of factors). The waste gate may need to be adjusted, could have a leak between the turbo and TB, the ECM might see something that is it is correcting for????? Now after the pro-tune I'm hitting 16 psi. If you have 93 octane available that would be the map to use.

i noticed the other day i wasnt hittin target boost either. got bored and did a compression test and found #2 cyl down 20psi of compression. if ya got time and the know-how, it wouldnt be a bad idea, seeing as how the ringlands are soo damn fragile in our (wrx) motors.

You can try adjusting your wastegate arm a little. Start off with half of a turn tighter and see if that helps you at all.

When my car (06 wrx) was cobb stg2, I was hitting 18psi all day on the OTS map. Weird how different cars react so differently to the same maps..

Only hitting 14psi may have something to do with the wonderful gas we use here in Cali, 91 octane sucks....

Correct.

Your cheap gas isnt going too help unfortunately. What are you using to measure boost, stock gauge, ap? Mine was boosting around the same until I had it protuned....

The 02-05 target boost is 15.8psi @ Cobb Stage 2. However with the 2.5L block Cobb made some changes to the maps. The 06-07 target boost 15.2psi +/- 0.7psi @ Cobb Stage 2 (Link to Cobbs 06-07 91oct map notes). So @ 14.5psi you are within what Cobb considers normal for your vehicle.

I thought it took a couple of days for the car to learn the tune.....so maybe the boost will raise in a couple of days

MBC's are a bad idea unless you really need it and know what you are doing.
