The car is over sprung. I have the swift sport Springs and I love the slightly stiffened ride for daily driving, I would like to do the koni yellow inserts as well though. I think the swift Springs would have your car sitting perfect seeing how it drops the car about 3/4"

Kind of a noob question here, I know that both rsutton and xluben both had the spt catback at one point with a downpipe from either invidia or cobb. my question is: did you guys have to modify/cut the stock heat shield at all to make it fit or does it just bolt right in to place? havent purchased one yet im just wondering. if it helps im leaning towards this. http://www.cobbtuning.com/Subaru-SS-...e-p/524202.htm.

rsutton which cobb dp did you have attached to your spt catback? how did you like it? fitment? thanks in advance.

You will need to either cut or replace the stock heat shield with a new down pipe. I've got the Cobb dp and Cobb heat shield. Works great

I think it'll look good either way. Personally though, I'd be too scared to powdercoat those! Love the look of them from the factory. Black wheels almost always make something look nice and aggressive though.

I thought you want the o2 sensor before the turbo for wide band. That's why so many up pipes come with them.

Before cat (if you have one) after turbo is where they are installed on our cars. Typically right on the bellmouth of the DP.

There are (2) O2 sensors, not including the additional wideband O2 sensor that's typically installed in the bellmouth area of the downpipe.

This is why the headers/ up pipe have the bung for the front O2 sensor, and the downpipes(stock and aftermarket) have a bung (Even post cat) for the rear O2 sensor (again neither for the added wideband gauge bung).

If that's known to you disregard, the topic may be confusing to those who are not aware the talking is about the additional bung, only.

If you can cut it do so. The 2 shields are meant to be paired together and the SPT should have no issues fitting with the DP. A blanket, cut stock shield, and SPTshield would be great for heat management. Not using the SPT alone, is a recommendation.

Correct! That front o2 is responsible for fuel trim. Wide band bungs are not stock and you can not hook them up to the stock o2 locations. You have to have an additional one welded into the DP or buy a DP with that already as an option. As Flex said...there are 2 factory o2 locations.

This may help..here's mine

I guess while I'm here, upgraded my springs to swifts. Amazing difference. I highly recommend it if you daily drive your car.

Also, my little project for today...

I'm going to say NO you shouldnt... Was reading the other day that its bad to powdercoat forged wheels, ie bbs, due to the heat they need to be exposed to... It weakens the rim... I could be wrong about this, but its what I heard... Think you should do some more research before proceeding...

This isn't a paint vs. powdercoat question. It's a gunmetal vs. satin black question. I decided I'm going to keep them how they are though.
