Default Power FC Tuners Around?

Anybody know if any shops in the Portland/Seattle area that can tune a Power FC for an older EJ20G hybrid engine?

I would go back to using a chipped stock JDM ECU but it's not an option anymore since the engine is a JDM v2 STi top end with EJ257 short block. Needs a tune.

I had a tune done by Tim Bailey way back in 2008 but not sure if Surgeline has the file still on record (waiting to hear back from Tim). My hard drive crashed with all the info from that experience so I have no way to reload my tune.

Surgeline doesn't tune old cars/systems that aren't COBB now so don't think that's going to help even though I'd like to have them do it again.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Jarred from PDX Tuning tuned mine. It runs great now. No knocking, detonation, or anything.
Though my exhaust smells rich like it's catless (when it's not).

Tuning a PowerFC isn't too different than other open source tuning. It can be difficult because PowerFC is old school and sort of an entry level ECU.

Are they still around? I thought they vanished when it became Surgeline.

It did not become surgeline, Jarrad still runs it and is still in business. in fact, they are still NASIOC vendors, just dont have much of a presence (if at all).

With that said, I haven't dealt with a power FC in years but if I was trying to get something up and running now, I would ditch it and just go to my favorite tuner. I dont think a power FC can do something that an opensource (or 'accesstuner' or whatever cobb calls theirs) can't do.

Pro tune is the words I believe your looking for.

And Bobby at PRE Racing can work magic on hybrid builds.

My bad on the "became Surgeline" I don't know the in's and out's of what happened there. I just know one time i went there it was PDX tuning and then next time it was Surgeline haha.

In any case, I'm not sure I can just ditch the PowerFC being there aren't to many options out there for the older G motors that I know of that wouldn't require a decent amount extra cost involved. I don't really have the funds or want, to dump funds into something that does the same thing the PowerFC does when I already have the PowerFC. I'd rather just pay for a new tune. Currently that is.

But if there is some sort of replacement that does exist that you know of I would be more than happy to look into it for the future of the car. Just trying to put my money elsewhere at the moment.

AccessFlash. Lance tuned my spec B with it. It is cool with the Si drive because you get two different boost levels. I've had 3 AccessPort's already and wanted to try something else.

I tune a lot of PowerFC. Mostly drift guys' Nissans and RX7's , but it's not much different on the Subarus.

it is VERY different from Open Source... whoever said that one.

With the older JDM ecu that would be used for this engine if OP didn't have the power fc, any kind of flash tune eg. Accessport opensource is not an option.

OPs only option with the hybrid build is a standalone so ditching the one he already has and going with something more modern would be a costly decision.

Thanks for all the replies every one. Looks as though I won't be needing to deal with it as I thought. The condition of my old car that I was to get back is worse than expected. So I will not be taking it.

Instead I'm purchasing a 02 WRX that needs a new motor for a good price. So onto a newer swap experience haha.

+1 for Dom too. Sounds like the OP is pretty far south though. If the car is running it wouldn't be a terrible drive but towing it that far might hurt the wallet.
