2015 MVP Track Time Midwest Schedule

Good Day Fellow Track Fanatics:

Another fun year of exciting track action awaits for 2015. MVP Track Time (www.MVPTrackTime.com) is pleased to announce our expanded 2015 Midwest track event schedule. I hope you’ll join us for the on-track fun.

We have exciting track events for 2015, including Circuit of The Americas (COTA), two weekends at Road America, two weekends at Road Atlanta and in April our revived “Tax Freedom Track Weekend” at the new National Corvette Museum (NCM) track in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Visit our web site for schedule updates as 2015 progresses.

MVP’s goal remains the same since we began in 2006, offering you more actual track time at each event for less money than most organizations. Our three run group format (Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) offers you maximize driving time (generally 2+ hours of scheduled daily track time) instead of standing around the paddock.

Below you will find our 2015 schedule, subject to possible revisions as the year progresses.

February 27 – March 1: Circuit of The Americas (Austin, TX) – SOLD OUT

April 11-12 1: National Corvette Museum (Bowling Green, KY) – SOLD OUT

June 1: Autobahn Country Club (Joliet, IL) [Full 3.56 Mile Track] – ”First Monday in June”

June 27 – 28 : Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) – 3rd Annual ”Blue & Grey Track Days”

July 10 – 12, 2015: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) – 1st Annual “Escape The Heat” [Three Days!]

August 10: Autobahn Country Club II (Joliet, IL) [Full 3.56 Mile Track] – ”Monday at The Bahn”

October 3 - 4: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) – 6th Annual ”Cheese Heads On Track”

November 21 – 22: Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) – 7th Annual “Flyin’ Turkey Trot”

Registration is available on line with Pay Pal (you can use any major credit card through the Pay Pal system) or a mail-in registration for our 2015 track events at your choice of the links below:
On Line Registration: http://www.mvptracktime.com/id92.html
Mail In Registration: http://www.mvptracktime.com/id93.html

Generally, MVP schedules a minimum of two hours of track time daily for each run group with qualified instructors available for the Novice run group.

Join us in 2015 for the on-track excitement with MVP Track Time. All courteous, safe drivers are invited and welcome. Please, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

I hope to see you at the track in 2015. Happy Motoring!

Tomorrow is the opening day at Route 66 Dragway Test & Tune. Anyone planning on going?
FYI, cars faster than:
13.99 require helmet (min Snell 2005)
11.49 require fire jacket and helmet
9.99 require full-face helmet, fire jacket and fire pants
click here for the Route 66 Rulebook for more info.
Also wear long pants and close toed shoes. They will not let you run your car with shorts and sandals.

Hopefully I'll see some of you there!
Look for these cars. Both will be running.

Contacted SCCA to join and they said no schedule was set, and they are having issues with contract. Use to race F-Stock down in the SC Region of SCCA. Now that I have a 11 STI want to get back in.

Anyone in SCCA know anything about the schedule or what is going on ?

We're having scheduling issues with the venue we've used for the past 10+ years due to conflicting events and expanded usage of the site, Route 66. There's an Milwaukee Region SCCA event in Milwaukee @ Miller Park this weekend that a number of Chicagoland members will attend. There's also Indiana Region SCCA events in Gary, just over the state line.

Hopefully the board will get the schedule flushed out soon. This has been a strong region for a long time with lots of active volunteers working their ass off every season.

Newb question about autocross. Can we wear shorts? I know for track events, you cannot.
It'll be almost 80 degrees this Sunday & I don't want to be fried working the cones.
Or I'll just wear my full racing suit. LOL

I would just check with the club; it never hurts. Audi-Chicago and Porsche-Milwaukee did NOT require pants (underwear is optional too ).

Nice... I thought a jock strap would be required to keep my family jewels in place in those tight turns.
I'll email WCMC for this weekend.
I'll probably wear my old cargo pants that unzip into shorts just in case.
Thanks for the help.

Went to today's WCMC event & had a blast. Everyone was so nice & willing to help out. Really nice crowd. I got down to 54 seconds from 60 seconds (was really awful the first few runs). I was in the W class, rally, AWD, class. I think there were 3 other WRX/Sti & they were hovering around 52 seconds on their runs.
Had tire pressure at 40psi for both front & rear but still understeered a bit.
Got to run a total of 11 runs in 2 stages.

Good deal man.
I did the windy city bmw event today in Maywood. Great people, great cars and great time!
Eight runs total and last four were timed. My car ran great and even got sideways a couple times. Seven Subys total today too! including mine, 3 GR hatch(2 sti and 1 wrx) and 1 GR sedan. '15 wrx driven by a 65-75 year old man and 2 brz.
My best lap of the day was a 48.773, no cones.
Second best was a 47.??? but i smashed a cone in the stop box while sliding it in +2 second penalty Although, I did have some orange cone fragment between my wheel and tire from hitting it LOL

Still have time to sign up for the autobahn track day in a couple weeks. Two day event for a steal of a price. First day is instruction on the track and second day they start to loosen the reins and let you drive. Saturday night is also packed with fun events.
Anyone interested can check it out here: http://www.windycitybmw.com/EventDetails.aspx?Id=175

Just registered for the Sat May 30 Audi autocross at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg.
There's an option to mail in a check(didn't give an address) or pay by CC. I thought we just pay cash on site.

I am happy to hear you signed up for an Audi autocross and wish I could join you. Unfortunately, Saturdays are bad for me because my girls have softball (and I am a coach) and soccer.

If you are registered already, you'll probably pay when you check in on site. I am checking with ACCCC to see why there is a mail-in option with no address.

Kids are one reason I decided to start attending these autocrosses. I'm 40 & it's never too late to start & it was therapy to be out there yesterday. Felt like the toddler ran our lives.
My friend emailed ACCCC & they responded that we can just pay the day of the event. Kinda stingy that they charge $10 for helmet rental. I'll just let my friend use mine & make sure he's not staged close to me.

I am an ACCCC member but have not been autocross/track active for about 6-7 years. I just wanted to contact them anyway to freak them out. I too am well above 40 am have been itching to drive the track again.

Thanks, and ya the people up in Milwaukee said the same thing. Great people up there and had a blast, just with the flood of people it was a long day working corner 4.

Did you go to Event #1 ?

And are you going to the next one ?

First time in AWD so was under 24 N for the first event.

Who went to the WCMC autocross yesterday. Looks like the rain held out.

Who's going to the Audi one on May 30? Maybe we can all run in our own group/class. I know WCMC let's a car club do that.

Saturday events are difficult for me right now.

I am more disappointed the I have not gotten a response from the Audi club. They must have written me off.
I don't blame them. I have not done one of their events in 7 years. I need to find a way to have more time. Maybe I have to sell the wife and kids.
And it would be cool to have a Scooby Class in the Audi event.

I usually go to the Sunday events as my wife works every other Saturday.
Going with a friend on Saturday May 30 bc he can't do Sundays.
I'm sure the guy is busy trying to organize the Audi Club, so I wouldn't sweat it.
