Shop: Excessive Autosport
Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Ambient Temp: ?
Elevation: 1,470 ft (448 m)
Weather: Cold

Car: 02 wrx
Tuner: Joey
Dyno Info: DynoJet
Engine: JDM EJ205
Transmission: Stock 5-Speed
Gear: 3th gear
Peak at RPM: 224.75 WHP
Peak Torque at RPM: 213.39 WHP

Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno:?
Turbo: TD04HL
Target Boost: 15Psi
Fuel: 91 Pump
Engine/Power Modifications: 3in downpipe, K&N drop in filter, Eliminated Cat,3inch midpipe, sti muffler, stock wrx intercooler
Compression Ratio: Stock 9:1
Fuel: Single Walbro 255
ECU: Stock USDM wrx ECU
Driveline Modifications: ACT Heavy Duty Clutch, ACT Lightweight Flywheel 12lb
Engine oil: 5w30
Injectors: 70% (Datalogged recently,might be at 103%)

If any of you been wondering how the JDM TD04HL is here are some results!

from what i know the JDM version has slightly bigger heads, with AVCS(sadly i did not get the ECU with this engine), TD04HL, and higher compression.

peak psi was 15 and went down to 11.(Called tuner he said he pulled timing there due to a weird false knock, which isnt a issue)

This is all the info i have received from them due to me being over sea(Living and working in Sweden).
After the phone call with him i am really happy with this engine, it still has room for improvement. I bet this thing would see a huge improvement with a catless uppipe(Not sure if current Setup is catted since its JDM no clue if they had cats) and a better intercooler. *See post 16 for additional mods that have been purchased*

Im really happy with this turbo, doesnt loose much power up top like the USDM TD04. Ive driven the stock USDM turbo before and wow can you feel the difference! Its still pulling after 5k rpm! It actually feels like it pulls harder up top. Unlike the USDM Version just kinda gets boner killed at 5krpm..

Let me know what you guys think!

UPDATE SEE POST 16!

Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno:?

Fuel: 93 Pump
Engine/Power Modifications: 3in downpipe, K&N drop in filter, Eliminated Cat,3inch midpipe, sti muffler, JDM V7 Intercooler, Sti Pinks, Gimmick Turbo inlet V2,TGV deletes

Fuel: Single Walbro 255
ECU: Stock USDM wrx ECU
Driveline Modifications: ACT Heavy Duty Clutch, ACT Lightweight Flywheel 12lb

This tune feels so much more smoother but with more punch then last tune. I have a feeling previous tuner didnt give much effort to my car which bugs me now. Oh well.
I added a few things as you can see on the list. I plan on adding more for next summer. (Adding AVCS :P)

Looks good, Did you change the plugs in the motor? I was told older plugs can cause it to break down

yes i did but the tuner said something like they found a crack on the spark plug or something of sort, not sure due to really short conversation on phone.
Quick Question, how would winter blend gas effect this tune, will the car feel peppier in summer? Im planning on visiting my parents during summer

Hmm to be all honest im not too sure...

from searching from model and year of engine, i suppose its a
TD04HL-15T-6

i gathered the information from this thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ghlight=td04hl
the first reason why i took a look into this thread was because i exam the turbo and saw that it said Td04HL.

Whats up with a huge dip in the graph?

*Edit. I see now your response to this.

Could be a multiple of things... My hope is that its not knock.

Okay i got the details! That Drop is due to knock, but tuner says he believe is a false knock caused by the knock sensor being old, said the knock could also be the engine vibration at a certain rpm. He said he could of put a washer to fix it but then risk the safety of the knock system. Im going to update first post

Isn't that wonderful. Car shows knock on the dyno - send it out the door and hope its false... Also, Power is lower than I would hope for on a DJ.

Well I trust this shop as many of my friends with subaru have gone there and been really happy, he fixed the issue and stated that no problem would be at hand.

I wouldnt say power is low, its where it should be, its not like i asked them to go all out on it and put the most aggressive tune on it.

But the main reason as to why i even made a thread here is because I have not seen a dyno run with a TD04HL on nasioc, this shows this turbo has alot of potential and still spools great with plenty of torq. Great option if you want to replace the old stock Td04. Im here to show results

I'm not at all trying to say he's a horrible tuner, or this is a horrible setup. Its an okay turbo, I wouldnt say an upgrade. I dont see it making any more noticable power than a regular 13T model. Stock turbo WRXs can easily make this power and leaving the car with knock is just something I wouldnt have done myself without doing some more diagnostics is all I'm saying.

It does have the slightly larger turbine, and the compressor does flow a bit more. I would expect it to make 5-10 more hp than your average stage 2 wrx.

This is why i stated if you have a old worn out td04, this would be a nice choice of a replacement.

This turbo offer almost the same torq as the td04, holds boost better, doesnt fall on its face up top as much. Im sure this turbo would get even better results if someone push it more.

OLD AND ALL DONE!

Il be retuning the car soon! Ive had the car shipped to me(to Sweden)

I do have some stuff to add to the car not much of mods thou.
I have a turbo blanket to add and a up-pipe blanket. There is no heat-shield on my car.

Doing a TGV delete right now.

Second my turbo inlet I believe has a tear, I'm not 100% sure so I bought a gimmick turbo inlet, not much of a power adder but hopefully reduce lag.*edit* turbo inlet did have a rip, already installed New gimmick inlet, going to make sure its sealed tight this weekend before doing etune.

Il be double checking all nuts and rattles in the car to remove or find the false knock
(Zip Tying, nuts, etc) This should actually make power come on a tiny bit faster.(Fixing the knock)*edit* i found a screw bit right next to knock sensor.. guessing its what caused the knock ha! We will have to see!

I have checked my IDC and I believe I reached 103% was supposed to be around 70%(Wondering If Elevation can cause change in IDC due to more boost)Purchase STI Pinks.

I also purchased a complete JDM V7 Intercooler setup(BPV, Hoses, Intercooler, and V7 splitter) for roughly 550$! ---- Cant believe the size of this thing! Its so much heavier then the ****ty STI V6 intercooler I have and bigger! But dam does it look clean! Only about 3 bent fins!*edit* installed! Only issue is throttle body to intercooler is slightly tiny tiny marginally off but i was able to put it on with clamps.
Il have to re-tune for elevation change. I have picked a tuner! Phatron!

Where I live now this is the Elevation
(Elevation AMSL 18 m / 59 ft) Gothenborg, Sweden

Where I used to live
1,470 ft (448 m) Sioux City, Iowa, USA

Also Il fill up the tank with the highest we have here at every gas station which is 98ron(EU) which is about 93aki(USA)
Also Bought a complete STI turbo back exhaust for 200$(Looks like new! no Rust!) going to use it to pass emissions then go back to my setup.

Cliff notes.
Mods being added, TGV delete and ported, sti pinks, ported intake manifold, throttle body slightly ported, Gimmick turbo inlet, JDM V7 Intercooler, Uppipe and Turbo Blanket.
